Shows how good he was in the first season.
I dunno how you do it sometimes…
Sorry for not posting recently and so seeming like a negative Nelly, however I was listening to this on the radio on the way to work and the exchange of our right backs and systems causing chaos in the end.
@ILLOK post about this incoming I’m sure. It was ringing in my ears and the Wolves winner seemed like no surprise.
Arne Slot:
“My expectations have changed throughout the season. I expected more from us than where we are fighting from now. It’s another setback, we didn’t help ourselves with this result. There is 8 games to play, we are coming closer and closer to the end.I told them at half time that it was possible to play a bit faster side to side and if we play a bit faster at least our wingers have some time to take their full back on. I think that happened more in the 2nd half and that’s why we came closer and closer. We know how hard we have to work to score a goal because recently we are only scoring from set pieces. We find it hard to convert those chances… I saw more urgency in the second half than in the first half. First half we had a lot of ball possession but weren’t able to penetrate a lot of times in their 18 yard box. We were able to more in the second half than in the first half.
It seems I offended a few people here. I apologize, and moving on. ![]()
Actually it does look like I will miss the next three games. I’m not going bother to interrupt my holiday to find a bar in Berlin.
Listening to radio phone, a few fans are saying Mo is downing tools, he has lost the heart to play.
If i have i have to watch this type of football next season, week in and week out, i will go into hibernation for the whole season, otherwise I will need to be sectioned under mental health act 1983.
I can’t cope watching this dreadful, slow and tedious style of football.
Arne needs to sort it out soon if he wants to save his job.
And there is the problem side to side! therefore never playing through the lines and getting behind either the midfield or the defence
I don’t think that I have ever watched a more exhausting Liverpool team. It’s mentally draining sitting through every game and it’s starting to feel like a chore.
This team won the league last year and for the most part of this season, they’ve been playing like they don’t know what to do and like they don’t care much anyway.
Whatever happens in the end, some hard decisions need to be taken; otherwise, the rot will set in, and this will become the new norm.
Ok so I’ve had some time to digest the disappointment of tonight and I’ve come to the long, hard thought conclusion that we’re still gonna win the FA cup and CL. Geddup!!!
I didn’t want to vote for anyone but on second thoughts, I gave my solitary vote to Rio. He’s a talented young lad trying to break through. He wasn’t brilliant or anything like that, but he showed some endeavor, kept trying to take his man on, put in some crosses and hit the post. That’s a decent showing for a youngster, on a night when the whole team laid and egg, so he gets my only vote.
As for the rest of it, aaaarghhhh!
Just when a tiny bit of hope for a CL finish starts to emerge, we go and do that. The CL race is not over, but we are not doing ourselves any favors.
We only looked like we had any tempo when we went behind. Unfortunately twice. Apart from that we looked like we were playing with the handbrake on, slow and also devoid of ideas.
Since we’ve gone this far with Slot at the helm, I can’t see us letting him go before a summer review, and while I’m not one for ranting, this was another telling data point, this time against the bottom team in the Prem. We didn’t get the points we needed, much less put on a display to give us some hope. Ugh.
Mo is as good as gone in summer. If he’s poor now, he wont get any better at 34. It’s a sad ending but is what it is. He’s given us some great memories and moments.
A club legend, but time moves on. We need pace, power and skill on the wings and he has none of that anymore. He can’t even trap a ball these days.
I agree with you about Mo, but also want to say he took his goal well tonight. Slowed the defender down, went again, crisp finish outside of the left. Sadly we didn’t do enough and it was a poor night.
It’s fucking laughable. Get the ball to our ‘wingers’ quicker. Maybe your ‘wingers’ are shit Arne.
This club is fucking rotten on every level. Owners who are scared to do what needs to be done because we might scrape CL football. Recruitment team who acted like Billy Big Balls in the summer and left us with a worse squad despite spending half a billion quid. A manager who is more clueless than Hodgson ever was. Players who think they should all be playing for Real fucking Madrid while being out-played by fucking dossers every week.
We’re a fucking embarrassment and have been fucking shit for 12 months.
There are 7 players I would be sorry to see leave the club. Ekiteke, Endo, Robbo, Kerkez, VVD, Gomez and Alisson.
The rest I wouldn’t give a single fuck if they never played for the club again.
It doesn’t even hurt anymore.
Yeah, I agree. Same thing with that goal at Brentford. There will always be that class but physicality, speed of thought and that younger ‘edge’ is now gone, it happens to them all. Selling Mo for some money will probably be Edwards’ second highest action for Hughes in the Summer.
He’s bad but not Hodgson bad. Although in fairness to Hodgson, he was given the likes of Konchesky and Poulsen as players and had to work alongside the shit show off pitch.
It’s more reminding of Rodgers last season with us. Arne has no excuse and nowhere to hide now.
Slot has got a squad worth over a billion quid and we’ve been dogshit for 12 months. He has no idea how to improve things. In fact he doesn’t even try. Worse than Hodgson for me.
If anyone still wants to watch this.
