Post match: Wolves v Liverpool (EPL 4/2/23 3pm)

I hope Klopp is reading all the experts on here for tactical assistance. And I hope FSG are taking advice as well, some financial gems on here.

Wow I’m sure that insight hasn’t crossed the minds of our dozens of highly paid analysts

I’d give Harvey three games in that right attacking position. Play Salah through the middle if he must play. Bench if not.

English language requirment test for the next game. No pass, no play. It’s the only sensible solution :slightly_smiling_face:

Getting dicked by the ev lot will be tough to take. That can’t actually happen can it?

Agreed. All though there were some ‘experts of football’ as well, the general discussion had still some context. Now theres like 10-15 posters who are level headed.

There’s a reason it’s so long between posts.

And I would rather us 10th with Klopp than first with Mourinho , but our pain is self inflicted. We are two midfielders short over last and this season an extra 150 million (75 million this is assuming we are buying Jude and another 50 million midfielder although i think there were better and bit cheaper options ) investment which is peanuts compared to the top six spending .

I don’t understand how that we want to control games but just lump it forward, doesn’t make sense to me.

Regarding running alongside players, we are lacking players that are good at tackling, we only have Milly, Thaigo, Bajcetic & possibly Konate that actually tackle, I know theoretically you shouldn’t go to ground but sometimes you have to and there is an art to it.

Bacjetic did a wonderful sliding tackle on Traore in the 2nd half and won the ball back for us how many of ours have the skill or tenacity to do that?

Has team ever had such a dramatic fall from grace?

Weve gone from being 20 minutes and nearly winning the lot to an absolute shit show of a team.

We arent losing games we are getting smashed. Lost out last 2 away games 3-0.

This is more than being a Midfielder light

Gakpo was the signing we didnt really need and Nunez is…not sure. At the moment looks awful. Shown bits and pieces. But im not convinced.

Not sure Klopp can sort this and it reeks of his final season in Dortmund.

Injuries, loss of form by a majority of our team, fitting square pegs in round holes to make up for the aforementioned and a lack of fire these have all made the perfect storm for our abject season.

Even 1 midfield signing wouldn’t have changed many things but it might have been a start.

But hey ho I will support them through thick and thin, believing that they will win every game … I’m so delusional but who care

At a loss really and can’t see how it turn arounds now.

Fully expecting to lose Klopp, who is the best thing to happen to the club in decades and these absolute muppets posing as players are gonna see him get sacked.

He goes i go

The former might be a big reason for the latter…

Still haven’t seen any of the game so can’t really comment on the performance of individuals or as a whole.
There is only one positive to come from this though. There just has to be a reaction next Monday. Any repeat of the absolute garbage we’ve been subjected to since New Year and things could get very ugly very quickly.
Yesterday was a tipping point for me, I’m done making excuses for these players. I’ve been as guilty as anyone blaming the amount of football they’ve played over the last few years and the intensity of it, they’ve been run into the ground etc. Well they can get to fuck, most of them had 6 weeks off during the WC and we’ve been playing one game a week since Christmas. If they are genuinely knackered then they are fucking finished as professional footballers.
They are embarrassing themselves, the manager and Liverpool Football Club and they need to get a fucking grip of themselves. Problem is many of them know they are done here so what do they care?
We probably need 2 wins and 3 draws from our last 18 games to stay up. I can’t believe I’ve just typed that but here we are.
Looking ahead to next week I’d bring in Phillips, Henderson, Milner and Elliott into the starting 11 as at least they’ll be up for a fight. People talking like Everton are fucking boss all of a sudden because they’ve won their first game in 3 months. They’re still shite.

This doesn’t stop a lot of the people on TAN (some by their own admission) chipping in at the end and spouting a whole wrath of inaccuracies. I really do wonder how many here actually do watch overrrr say 50% of the games from start to finish.

Exactly, I wanted to comment but steared away (although I wouldn’t go as far as you on the personal point as that was maybe a bit too much). Because 1) The problem is not Nunez not getting chances, he is generally incredibly good at positioning and getting them. The problem is execution, he is leads the statistics of wasted chances in the Premier League by a fucking lot.
On the 3d of January, Norwegian VG had an article on how much he actually is missing. And it is unfortunately a lot, there is no hiding that:
In this graphic you see Big Chances and then how many each forward has burned (Store Sjanser= Big Chances, Store sjanser brent= Big chances burned). Nunez while having a lot of promise is a major problem when it comes to converting chances:

  1. Comparisons with Haaland were always stupid and a bit like the words coming out of a drunk happy fan. The problem is the price tag, but the comparison otherwise was always absurd. Haaland was like Klopp said City shopping and picking from the “top, top, top shelf”. Nunez was a not finished super star.
  2. Haaland have had an obscene conversion rate and incredible goal tally in Borussia Dortumund and Salzburg, pointing to City’s service players then is kind of besides the point and no point at all.

Our main problem is that our entire team lacks rythm and form, but damn me, Nunez and Salah are missing way, way, way too many chances for us to compete about the highest placements even if our general rythm was better. Because honestly, Salah too is a major problem and unlike Nunez, less of a development prospect.

Edit: That graphic was valid on the 3d of january, doubt it looks better for us now.

Yeah, I haven’t been impressed with him at all so far. I’d be looking to put an extra body in midfield against the bitters, go all Sean Dyche 4-4-2, maybe a diamond with Bajcetic holding, Hendo and Milner as the 2 and young Harvey behind Salah and Nunez. Can’t be any worse than what we are seeing atm and those players will at least show a bit of fight.

This is not true to the same extent in any form or way and is a comfortable pillow you should not lie your head down on and lull you away on, since while it may feel good, it’s just not backed up by facts.
See my point 1,2 and 3 in the post above.
