Take what money out im guessing you’re one of those tinfoilers who believe money is being siphoned away.

I haven’t seen this point made, so I will throw it into the ring.

When Man Utd were successful under Ferguson, he would change his number two every few years. He was the figurehead, and I’m sure good in his own right, but one key to their long period of success was changing the number two regularly.

That way the players heard a new voice in training, and they were refreshed with new ideas and so on.

I love Klopp and think he is very much an iconic figurehead for us. He is a man of substance and real achievement. He gets us. His position should be secure to build this up again with us.

But we might want to consider taking a leaf out of the Ferguson book and changing the number two with some regularity.

Since the CL win.

TBH, I’d rather have had 3 points, a decent performance, and hope for the rest of the season.

But, I support Liverpool with my (heavy) heart, and bet with my head

@rer, you not getting what im saying… results are well and good. Did City stop spending despite winning the league five times in the last few years? Players grow old and tired and a refresh was needed. Klopp has squeezed out as much as he can out of a limited budget. I doubt any other manager in world football could have done the same. Spending 245 million quid since 2016 is not quiet enough especially with our ambitions

Hey I’m not faulting you for it…do what you wanna do.

3 points and a decent performance would’ve done absolutely nothing for us today…season is long gone.

Can’t tackle. Cant pass. That’s terminal for a football team.

We haven’t stopped spending either. Its more the question was on spent wisely.

Add to that, can’t run can’t fight can’t shoot and you’re pretty much left with a bunch of duds.

I agree with you on that point, I was just being a bit snidy towards the team’s performance. I, like you, cannot see how this team works it’s way into European spots.

Point of order.

I create them before the match. I have to, to get the poll and the updates ready.

Does anyone else remember last July, when comparisons were being made between Nunez and Haaland?

@rer, we not gonna reach common ground here are we lol

Quite possibly the worst team performances over the last couple of months that I’ve watched in nearly 60 years as a Reds supporter. The three of their goals were because of our defenders not closing the opposition down. They stand four or five yards off the attackers and just allow them to pick us off at ease. Forty points look a big order at the moment and any hope of a top six has flown out the window. A lot of talk about midfielders we want in the summer is pie in the sky. Who will want to come into a team that’s playing as badly as us. Not looking forward to the Real Madrid at all.

Some people think that Klopp has a huge share of the blame for being unable to shift on deadwood in the midfield and spending a fuck ton on forwards.

It wasn’t long ago, Minamino and Mane was sold and Origi left us. Who did we buy during this entire period for the first team? Diaz, Gakpo and Nunez. Was Klopp justified in spending money to replace the trio who left? Absolutely yes.

There was a dilemma for Klopp to sort out way back in the winter window during Jan 2022. Spend the money ( which includes potential sales) on forwards so that we can be prepared for the departure of Mane or spend it on the midfield. Klopp chose Diaz to replace the eventual loss of Mane.

Something happened in the summer of 2022. For some reasons, we couldn’t get the sales and clear the deadwood in our squad for squad places which also got compounded by the loss in revenue during Covid-19 .I personally saw AOC went down injured in Singapore. Keita is Keita. That became a problem as the amount of money we have is heavily reliant on sales and we couldn’t get the sales required.

If it wasn’t obvious by now, FSG wants to run this club in the most organic manner as possible aka sell to buy. Nothing wrong with that until you cannot get sales to boost the transfer kitty for whatever reasons.

If 3 players leave, you can get 3 players in. Unfortunately, Origi left on a free which essentially fucked us up because it is the equivalent of having the sales of 2 players but losing 3 bodies.

So Klopp didn’t have the choice but to extend Milner’s contract and get in a last minute panic loan in Arthur for the midfield.

So think again, if Klopp deserves the bulk of the blame for this debacle of a season.

I feel sorry for Nunez with what he has behind him, look at what Haaland has some of the best around.

Bring back Nat Philips please…I don’t care play 5 or 6 at the back…do some old school defending, ditch the high line and get some clean sheets and build from there.

We have low confidence in defending at the moment. For the first goal, Trent abandoned the defensive line to follow his man. Little details like this needs sorting.

For me, Gakpo should not be situated in a prominent central position when defending set pieces. Until he shows some steel that is. The second goal was mix of bad defending and luck for the opposition form the ricochet.

MIdfield is under-performing and needs help. Play with two up top (Darwin and Mo) , and allow n extra body in midfield.

Even if he has no one in front or him…he misses alot. The potential is there…but currently it’s like poor man’s Lukaku

That’s all good and well, but if you think Klopp is the kind of man to bomb a player out to the reserves or make them train alone to make them fuck off (like Mourinho would) you simply have not been paying attention for six years.
