Post Mortem: Liverpool v Man Utd (EPL 19/10/25 4.30pm)

Same, I’m not seeing where we go from here, and unlike Klopp he hasn’t shown alternative thinking.

He’s starting talking a better game than he is putting out there.

Just guessing… he meant Kerkez. I don´t understand why we aren´t playing Robbo when we clearly need a bit more experience and leadership on the pitch.

If Kerkez and or even Bradley was our biggest issue I’d be ok.

Quite a few others did aswell…but he doesn’t seem to want to…tackle…run and track the ball…help out his fellow team mates…at one point in the game…he stood near the halfway line…a manc player came towards him…and he stood , arms up to his chest and let the manc go past him…why oh why oh why…just chase after the ball …do something…don’t stand like a lemon…

This is going to be a fun thread!

You don’t win games with him labouring around whilst confining your one summer signing to show their worth to the bench.

I don’t see much difference in Mo’s and Gakpo’s starting positions.

They were no different to last year with our fullbacks underlapping with them being out wide.

Mo is out of form, simple, he has had chances in the last couple of games in the same areas he had before and just not produced or even hit the target

Spend £50m to replace the PL Young Player of the Season. Yeah, would have loved to have seen that happen.

We’re going to finish mid - table at best. Definitely need a centre back in January. Start with Robbo and bring Kerkez on after an hour. Give Gomez some playing time. Need to show our defenders how to tackle and not stand two yards away from attacking players. It’s been a long time since we have been as poor as we are now. It’s no good blaming the referee for a few dodgy decisions, it’s our poor football that’s costing us not the refs.

By eck you listen to all this commentary crap about Man U being so good out of possession, bollox we created, but poor finishing cost us which as been our issue this season, oh and being crap at the back

You nailed it there. Dead right!

I think the idea would have been to replace our lost passing ability from deep positions. I actually would have loved to have seen that.

It wouldn’t have needed to mean confining Gravenberch to the dustbin.

Creating stuff is not a major issue ironically as some will argue on here.

It’s defending anything and finishing it.

We bought ball carrying fullbacks and a creative fulcrum for further forward. Clearly we don’t want to be relying on passing from deep so much.

Or if we are we’ve buggered a lot of our transfer business this summer.

You need a new pair of glasses. No offence.

Gakpo is most lethal when he is in the left side channel where he has the freedom to play the ball down to an overlapping FB or cut further in to shoot or cross. How many fucking times did we see him get shown down the fucking lines?? How many times did we see him occupy the same space where an attacking full-back should be?

The same goes for Salah…

A note on our attacking set pieces. Why do we seem like the only team in the league who hasn’t caught onto the trend of inswingers being the effective form of delivery?

We have them but Slot left 2 of them on the bench initially and the only one that was starting had his space on the pitch blocked by Gakpo and Gakpo couldn’t release it on time and safely for Kerkez.

Who can you blame at this point???

What are you talking about ?

When you look at our transfer business we bought players that would make buying a deep lying play maker type a bit redundant.
