Pre and In Match | Everton vs Liverpool | PL Match Day 6 | Saturday 12:30 | Goodison

To be fair, Carvalho was not doing well at the CM position. He just hasn’t got that physicality to deal with it.

I’m becoming increasingly frustrated at our lack of composure and ability to retain the ball.

I saw Jota, having just come on managed to lose the ball 3 times in eth space of less than 10 seconds. We recovered it on every occasion but you’re not creating chances if you’re continually losing the ball. That problem is evident throughout the whole team. Everyone.

Over rushed, trying the impossible and poor execution.

Argh. Its like this

true story

At one point we had a shot which Pickford spilled, Robbo (who had been on 5 minutes so should be fresh) was stood still next to a bitter watching, not moving, not busting a gut to get on the rebound, he was stood fucking still watching.

That is a lack of desire to win, far too many seniors have lost their hunger and spark.

So yes I stick with my original point. This is Everton who were fucking 18th in the league, they are absolutely fucking dogshit and we made them look good.

I have no idea whose fault is it. FSG or Klopp or maybe the both of them. I have no idea who is running the medical department now as anyone with any sports science knowledge would start to ring the alarm bells regarding squad depth the moment AOC crumpled to the floor in Singapore and/or the moment Thiago went off injured at Day 1.

I agree this has been the reason and injuries has even further amplified the issues, but we knew that we have a shorter pre-season and we had played every game last season. We should definitely have planned better perhaps.

Although for today I also feel there’s a tactical transition phase that’s happening in our side. A proper preseason would have helped with it, but sadly it’s happening at the start of season which is not ideal.

Might be longer than a year more like 2.

Really should not be starting with those two young players in MF at this point.
Regardless of the injuries, this was a failure of planning…

Bobby needs to start ahead of Nunez.

the fact that AOC was even MENTIONED as an option is a problem in itself. A player who was healthy in the later part of the season but was never used by klopp, but now becomes an option??? Milly was a sub utilised to rest players, now a bonafide alternating starter…

If we get the signings right next summer. We will be ready to compete from the off. The foundation is there already.

Klopp has not been perfect but I still feel has overachieved based on what he’s been given.

My general premise is that the owners have done a lot of good commercially and in terms of recruitment, but ultimately that they would not see anywhere close to their return on investment without one of the top managers in the world who, when you look at it, really built the team from the ground up (much as we hate him, closest thing to what Ferguson did a quarter-century before). In that case, sure, it was a coup to get Klopp , but when you hang him out to dry in the hopes that he conjures up some magic, you’re going to be disappointed at some point.

Absolutely Jabu. It’s very disappointing that AOC (as a minimum) wasn’t replaced in the summer.

Spot on, the only players trying to keep the ball were Van Dijk and Bobby. Shocking from the rest.

Some of the opinions on this post are comedy really, not sure if it’s because i was already seeing it as top four and cups season.

Not a great first half but I thought we were fine in the second. I don’t see an issue with Nunez though they need to think of a better corner setup as it was garbage.

Im going wait to post more in the post match thread but dumping on a lad who didn’t have a pre season and is back after several months out is classic.

It’s not like drawing 0-0 at Goodison has particularly hampered our seasons. Hopefully once everything is ticking we will be fine.

yep, love FSG but hate em for that. I too feel like once they realised what they had in klopp, they jus didnt invest as much as the value of their asset grew with very limited investment all due to klopp

Whose that?

Not inconceivable; regardless, I think we need to re-evaluate our expectations (as much as we all want to win everything).
