Pre- and In-Match | Liverpool v Newcastle United | PL Match Day 17 | Thursday 16th December 20:00h | Anfield

and so it begins…

How long do they have to isolate now in the UK?

10, 14 days, or?

I would expect a few more…

I assume they took lateral flow and they were positive.

So, they’re not positive yet, but enough evidence to keep them isolated?

I assume ‘suspected positive tests’ would be lateral flow tests rather than prc tests?

Either way, good of the club to get them isolated straight away rather than risk it spreading through the squad

Two keepers on the bench. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I had thought there might have been more changes for this one before the announcement of the covid cases. Side should still be plenty strong enough to wipe the floor with these.

Nobody is passing up the chance to play Newcastle right now.

Will be very interesting to see how we cope without VVD. How well organised will we be?

The 2 Newcastle have up front aren’t exactly mugs. I’m certainly not near as confident now as beforehand.

As my Gooner flatmate just commented “Should sign Covid in Jan to cover Salah and Mane in African Cup with the ease it got past both Fabinho and Van Djik”

The league really needs to think about scrapping the weekend fixtures, and maybe even the Holiday fixtures until the cases levels off. I would not be surprised if more positive cases after today’s match :expressionless:

We played Porto with this centre-back pairing, Tsimikas, and Williams. Kept a clean sheet in that one.

Might be a help to us if they think they have a chance of scoring against us they might attack more and punish them more.

Doesn’t make a lot of sense. Could have put Morton on the bench or one of the other kids.

Here we go again. What odds on a complete postponement by the weekend?
Funny how we play the last game before lights out again.

That was my interpretation as well. I know loads of people who’ve had false positive LFTs

Poor old Curtis can’t buy a break at the moment

Can’t believe they haven’t done PCR tests.

You can get fast track PCR results in an hour or so at the place I use in Liverpool so no excuse for relying on an LFT.
