Pre and In Match | Liverpool vs Newcastle | PL Match Day 5 | Wednesday August 31st 20:00 | Anfield

Mate get out for some fresh air, smoke some blow or something

It seems our players that were a mainstay for the last few years just lost their mojo. No interest, no aggression, everything so predictable. Not to mention the mistakes. VVD and Fab both seem to defend out of position, TAA is misplacing passes, Robbo cannot beat a first man with his cross, Mo cannot go past a defender, Hendo … well I will go easy on him as he plays in a LCM position tonight.

What is the solution? At least half of them should be benched the next game and the other half the game after.

We’re not fucking winning this mate. We haven’t had a shot on target.

This is a side that constantly rotates positions and so while the players didnt get back into their team sheet position, we were properly recovered. Right up until Fab left a massive hole at CB by sprinting forward to pressure a ball he had no hope of getting to and creating an easy pass to the goal scorer. The issue was not that we got pulled out of position, but that a key player didnt do his job while in position.

Not arsed by the Trent pass. The switch was on and that’s one of our main tactics and what he’s asked to do. The execution was poor but you ask him to play the high risk stuff then he’ll get those wrong occasionally.

What happens after is just shite though. No intensity from the defence, Fab passing Isak on to no one, Gomez picking up no one, where’s Henderson tracking Longstaff who makes the assist.

Trent was just the first in a litany of mistakes.

Matip & Fabio for Bobby and Hendo.

As someone said earlier when go vertical to Bobby’s feet in their final 3rd and have the runners things happen, Luis chance as an example also the one where Bobby did a great turn an played it to Luis who fed Hendo, who slowed us down and went backward grrrrrrrr

It’s only half time. :grinning:

Come out in second half with quicker passing. Get VVD running in at corners to get his head on one.

We are winning this

Do you think we’ll see a reaction? Or 10mins of the same shit from the same players, then we’ll make a change at 60mins, then get some pressure around the 70min mark

Have you seen anything in the first half that suggests we’re going to pull this back?

He passed him the ball!

On Gomez, he kept his right sided position Isak was then picked up 1st by Fab who left then Hendo, whilst VVD sauntered back into his LCB role whilst everyone else left Isak

Need to be more bold in the final third and trust ourselves to open them up. A goal early would do a world of good. Come on redmen!

Something has to give because we can not go on like this. The season will be ‘over’ before October

I hope you all appreciate I’m taking one for the team here. We are not winning this.

from what i saw, which is not much (not even the goal) thanks to my dodgy Optus stream, we were no where near as bad defensively as what some are saying…

from an attack point of view, it just FEELS totthless…it feels like Mos running till someone takes the ball from his feet…it just feels like TAA isnt crossing the ball, but just kicking it away from himself…theres no focus…

on the very few occassions(ive seen) we had the oppurtunity to transition quickly and get a three on three we just slow it down ourselves.

im not saying Elliot is overated, because its the wrong thing to say, but from what i have seen (not just this game) his performances are being overated.

Love him for his leadership and engine. His technical ability is average and when we have Thiago out we seem to really struggle to balance the midfiled. Fab turns like the QE2 and Harvey is still learning his trade.
I guess Keita would be the man we turn to when Thiago isnt around but sadly his body cant cope with the prem.
