As long as these protesters have no effect on the game I’m confident. They will try to stop our buses

Aussie cricket mentality from the 90s. When your opponent is down, stand on his throat.

Milner has been excellent thus far. I included him in my starting 11 assuming Hendo isn’t fit. If Henderson is fit, I’d include him. But historically, Milner has done well in these matches. He was fantastic in this fixture last season. If Henderson is on the bench, bring the captain on around 60.

Also the Australian 90s cricket team sledged and insulted incessantly. Never see a Klopp side (or any 21 century PL team) doing that.

What goes on the pitch stays on the pitch. Or that used to be the case, now there are armies of lip readers ready to jump up and down and demand for cancellation if anybody says anything worse than “bottom”

If the game is disrupted, obviously something needs to be done, and I understand the logic of writing it off as a win for us, but it wouldn’t sit well with me, especially if we were to go on to win the league by three points or fewer.

I don’t know if it would be that much of a deterrent for the supporters, anyway. They’d probably prefer an automatic 3-0 loss to having to sit through another 90 minutes of us bouncing them off the walls (or 45 minutes if they all run to their bedrooms at half-time again).

If we don’t win this one then we will have to start revising our expectations for this season. United were laughably bad against Brentford. One of the worst performances I can remember seeing in the PL from any team, let alone a United one.

A lot will depend on how Ten Haag approaches the game and whether he sticks to his principles of playing it out from the back, high line etc. If he does we should batter them. If he compromises, goes longer and sits deeper then that makes it more difficult for us but basically we just need to win. I don’t care about the performance or score as long as we can get 3 points and kickstart the season.

Milner was good off the bench vs Fulham and a total passenger when starting vs Palace.

That’s his role - a late sub. He’s great at it. But he shouldn’t be starting games ahead of Keita, Elliot or Henderson.

Exactly, win the game in the first half then bring him on the make sure it stays won.

Agree. I’d def start either Hendo or Milner against manure

The intention is pretty clear.

Quick, someone better tell Mo, before Harry “swear on my daughter’s life” Kane claims those three goals.

The huge problem with canceling this fixture is that it’s the crown jewel of English football. It is arguably the biggest league match on earth. There’s a LOT of money made from this fixture.

There will be in the pub I’m going to

Anybody else a tad worried about the fans tonight?

If it does get interrupted then it will have been the second time in three seasons which will start to get uncomfortably close to a regular occurrence. If it’s allowed then all bets are off for future games; these will feel its okay when the next fixture comes around, Arse fans will pull a fast one once they come around from winning the league in August to realise they still have Stan as an owner, City will send their two fans to the VAR offices when they don’t get the decision (just imagine the febrile atmosphere out there) … slippery slope to keep on letting it happen.

If the Utd fans get this match cancelled tonight because of their actions/demonstrations, and they are unlikely to be peaceful actions across the whole front, and even though they will be marching under the Glazers Out Banners… then why not class the whole sorry episode as an act of organised hooliganism.!
Then hit them with a big points deduction of say 10 or 20 points this season or next…
If nothing else, these F***ers are disrupting and unsettling the LFC match preparations

SIGH… :pensive:

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks Man Utd fans want to get the game cancelled so that Casemiro can play.
