Pre- and In- Match: Premier League / Norwich City Vs Liverpool / Sat 14th Aug / 1730 hrs

Absolutely. The media can try to create friction again this season but the fans know that they both clearly want to share in the rewards.

Thought everyone was excellent today. Hard to complain about anything - Alisson even got to make one of his ridiculous multi-saves at the end for a bit of entertainment.

Perfect start to the season. Especially seeing that controlled but relentless pressing again.

Solid opening match this - take that any day.

Virg and Tsimikas need to get more cap on their batteries , but did very well over all. Sorry for Sadio not to find the net , but was the most frightening press monster on the pitch yet again.

Nice! Next…

Only team with away victory

No point in subbing him. No natural left back available.

Brilliant. 3 goals, a clean sheet, although a bit of a ropey one, and a convincing win in the end on the ground of a newly promoted team. That is always tough to achieve, so we couldn’t ask for more, especially with VVD still at 75% and a makeshift midfield composition. Hendo and Thiago can now be brought back without a hurry. Their replacements have done well. Tsimikas is another one who did well for his first full PL game.

All in all, a very satisfying first game. Well done everyone! :+1:t2:

The control we had for most of that match was impressive. Reminded me of something …

Tsimikas showed flashes of potential but there were some mistakes too. Don’t blame VVD for strolling this match , he will get better the more matches he plays.

Ox misplaced some passes.

Decent enough win though. Opening day, will only get better from here.

And yeah, Allisson for those saves at the end.

I thought Tsimi was really really good. Not just his ability with the ball, but he’s got that same tigerish attitude as Robbo. I dont think Norwich tested him enough to really know how solid he is at the back, but he’s about as good a replacement, in style and ability, as you can get for Robbo with the ball at least.

Last 10 mins I was a bit conflicted as a part of me just wanted the game to end so we could get the likes of him and and Virgil off unharmed, but also wanted to see Harvey get more minutes. All in all, couldn’t really ask for anything more from a first day, especially having to start with what is really a second string midfield.

Like I said flashes of potential. Probably unlucky not to get a goal too. But there were mistakes which you would not associate Robbo to be doing.

I think he will get better the more gametime he gets. I’d like to see him get a full run of matches while we ease Robbo back from his injury.

Thought we were just excellent. They came at us pretty hard in the first 20-25, but we slowly took over the game.

What a difference VVD and Matip make! We are a very different side when we have our first choice (and second, third and fourth choice) CBs at the back!

Firmino is so important to this side. We are just different with him. His movement and link-up play are so intelligent.

Salah MOTM for me. Was quiet in the first half but set up Bobby and scored himself. Should have been more selfish when he tried to lay one off to Mane when we were up 0-3!

Both AOC and Keita were very good. Thought the midfield was solid.

Tsmikas was the only weak link. He has good positional sense and is good going forward, but he got beaten too easily at times and had a brain freeze! But that’s his first PL start. He’ll get better.

If we stay healthy, we are going to be a very, very difficult team to beat. We may not be favorites to win, but we certainly are going to be there right at the end. That pundits have written us off is hilarious.
