Pre and In Match Thread. Leeds United vs Liverpool. Elland Road.. EPL. Sunday Sept 12th. 1630 hrs

That’s why I feel if it was ever tested in a court of law it would crumble.

Just takes that one case, I don’t think the federations have pushed it hard enough for someone to go that route.

As someone pretty clued up on Employment law it seems bizarre.

Rumours breaking they have been cleared to play.

If we were playing tomorrow I expect Klopp wouldn’t have played them but I expect Alisson plays at least now.

No reason for both not to play.

Depends if Klopp’s been preparing his team and tactics all week, this stuff doesn’t just fall into place over night.

Fab to come off the bench at 60 to protect our 4-0 lead.

Bobby to come on at 70 to add to it.

He probably prepared with both scenarios in mind. Preparation will always have a fall back scenario, with alternatives to the main plan.

The biggest conundrum would have been Fabinho. Allison being out would have Kelleher in, not much change except back four slightly deeper?
Then its Hendo at 6 with Thiago and Elliot
Or…Fab at 6 with Thiago and Hendo, or suchlike.

It would look a bit weird if after complaining that we couldn’t play them we then left them out of the starting line up anyway. This has always been a phoney war and I’m pretty sure JK will have been given some kind of assurance that this would all work out in the end. I don’t imagine it’s disrupted his preparations as much as we might think. I’m just glad all the politics, financial and transfer bullshit of the last 2 weeks is over and we can get back to watching some actual football. Feels like months since we played Chelsea.

Actually, they seem to be very pregnable. Fecund, really.

Only Norwich have conceded more goals in the Prem. thus far this season. Leeds have been impregnated eight times in just three outings.

I think we should give them quads or even quins tomorrow.

I’d actually like to see us fucking batter somebody. Feels like so long so we’ve really mullered somebody. Palace?

Leeds would be a good place to do it.

Could be this, then:

Alisson
Trent Matip vDijk Robertson
Henderson Fabinho Thiago
Salah Jota Mane

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Gomez, Tsimikas, *Milner, Keita, Elliott, Chamberlain, Origi.

Looking forward to that midfield trio starting together soon, if not tomorrow. The last time they started together was I think all the way back to Everton away last season.

*Obviously if Millie can’t make it, then Jones on the bench.

I’ll trust Jürgen and his team to choose the ideal personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game.

and Allisson to go up top at 90 to double it

Yeah that’s what I thought, as I said if we were playing at 3pm today I’d have expected that both wouldn’t have played or just one.*

And it’s not that odd considering the announcement was made at 11pm at night.

*assuming Firmino is out

Fucking nuts that it’s taken this long.

Not surprised. There’s 5 phases to a climb down

  1. Denial - we did not fuck up
  2. Realisation - Oh shit we fucked up
  3. Sticking plaster - How can we fix it without taking any blame
  4. Climb down - Do it quietly so no one notices
  5. Run and hide
