Pre and In Match Thread. Liverpool vs AC Milan. CL Group B. Wed 15th Sept 2000hrs

Already knew :sunglasses:

Surprised, but fine with that line up. We were bound to rotate and Klopp knows best who’s fit and good in training to start. The 5 subs would have impacted his selection as well. Maybe if things go south, we’ll have enough options to change.

If I’m the manager of AC Milan I’m pinning that teamsheet to the wall of the dressing room and circling Origi’s name in thick marker pen to make the point that this shows how shit Liverpool think we are. Team talk sorted.

That line-up makes zero sense to me.

Origi? WTF has he done in the CL at Anfield?

Definitely wasn’t expecting that lineup. Let’s smash them

@Commando I need those reassuring words again.

Origi for Mane is a bit of a surprise given he hasn’t made a number of squads already this season, and also because imo Jota looked pretty tired and off the boil against Leeds. Mane was erratic with his finishing but generally played quite well.

The other changes seem pretty normal to me though. Expect those CBs to be rotated a decent amount throughout the season given their respective injury records.

I’d rather have Taki start than Origi. But then again what do I know. Baffling lineup to say the least.

It’s a lineup with a lot of flexibility. Remember, we can use 5 subs in this match. I like it.

Origi through the middle or left, with Jota leading the line?

EDIT: I guess through the middle, he wasn’t that bad in the Barca game.

Me too. A Klopp curveball that keeps players’ toes put upon and social media feeds frothing with forment. Oh and we have the strongest bench in 18 months to choose from at 60 minutes.

Baffling.

I like Origi through the middle, his natural position.

I find Jota more effective from the middle than the left.

If Origi works the way Firmino does…

You lot need to work a lot harder on slagging him…

Rebic up front for Milan then, with Giroud on the bench. No Zlatan in the squad. Looks like a pretty solid first eleven, will be interested to see how Kessie performs. Doesn’t look like they have a huge amount of positive options from the bench.

Fixed it for you.
