yep
Robbo tired, so his substitution was understandable. Nothing to see here really.
Chelsea will obviously be a lot more pleased with the draw than us. It happens. We could have done better but I take some encouragement from the fact that the European Champions came to Anfield and tucked in to hang on for a draw.
We are going to meet a lot of park the bus teams including those in the CL. If we cannot overcome them, we don’t deserve to win a trophy at all!
It’s an easy game from the armchair
Why luck? I call it good defending!
yes he tired… i wouldnt say hanging on though…they were fairly comfortable. they actually had the better chances in that half
always is lol
We will overcome most of them. On the day today, an excellent defensive team kept us out. Chelsea defend better than the vast majority. A draw feels a bit like a loss to us, but I’m starting to calm down now! We will improve.
Hopefully so!
silver-lining here is at least we didnt lose
Fair enough. Hanging on is too strong. But they played without ambition, content to just tuck in, keep their shape, and go to ground at will as the ref kept giving them free kicks. They were a combination of excellent defensively, and appalling in terms of their negative and dark arts approach in the second half. But they won’t care about that as they got the point they came for.
I think it would have been a better game had James stayed on for 11 v 11.
Yeah agreed. We had to make unnecessary tweaks and adjustments - both game wise and psychologically.
its hard to play with ambition when u down ten men… imagine if we had TAA sent off. kinda the same thing for them. I felt they were good not great defensively but yet again, that fuckin low block is our curse…why have we never signed a proper number 10
Chelsea did their job and got the point they came for.
It is very difficult to break them down under the circumstances. We huffed and puffed but my biggest complaint is not in the absence of a perceived lock-picker, but more the low intensity we played most of the second half. We passed it around in front of them too casually, and didn’t stretch them enough.
I agree. I love Joel and his positioning was absolute perfection. Just meant we were lucky that he was in such great position.
anyway… we take the point, onto the next one!! LETS FUCKIN GO!!
Or a CF of at least 6ft1?
I would settle for a player with more guile and intelligence in the final third
Klopp might aswell sign a target man. These amount of crosses are ridiculous. They don’t work anymore. Grab mane by the shirt so he can’t jumped at that’s that.
Why do Hendo and Harvey and who ever play on the outside of the middle 3 have to stand on the wings giving angles for better crosses which don’t even work. Get Harvey and Hendo in the middle where the goal is near so they can play some through balls or link up easier. We play like Burnley at times and I know that’s dramatic and not accurate but the crosses we play give away to such a team. Man City play quick short passes cause they don’t have the height and are good enough BUT SO ARE WE. I get managers have different tactics and I wasn’t complaining last two games but think we still need a rethink from the crossing tactic.
We will. And none will be as good at it as Chelsea. And we will also improve as key players play some of the rustiness out of their legs.
