Pre/In match: Chelsea v Liverpool (Sunday August 13, 16:30 BST)

It all went downhill after our disallowed goal and Chelsea have been on top since. We can’t keep defending or not defending like this.

Absolutely. Cody and Luis not doing enough

Seven and a half minutes stopping time… :see_no_evil:

Anyway, this is actually a good, entertaining game, with two good attacking sides, but clearly not title contenders because of the way they both concede guilt-edged chances on a regular basis.

Both defences are as soft as butter, and this game will go to whomever scores more than the other. Hopefully our forwards can take their chances during the second half, fingers crossed!

We were purring until our disallowed goal then the belief jsut left us and was exacerbated with them scoring

Jose
Hiddink
Conte
Sarri
Lamps
Tuchel
Potter
Poch

That is only 8, so does that mean Lamps counts twice?

Started well, ended poorly.

Midfield balance isn’t quite there, Gakpo has been abysmal off the ball. Pushing him up top and bringing in Jones for Jota is the obvious switch now.

Robertson has had a terrible game. Chooses the wrong time to go and press, losing his duels. This new system is a new challenge for him, we surely need some competition there.

Hopefully we’ll start the second as we started the first. Can still go on and win this game.

Probably an equal half in all fairness, only because we let them play and get back into it.

:upside_down_face:

Robbo (who is my favourite player) needs to up his game massively. He’s standing in the LHS of our box as crossfield ball after crossfield ball finds either Sterling or James in acres of space. He’s supposed to be a Lb not a LCB.

ancelotti

He also mentioned “Bruno”. I don’t know who he meant?

He is also lacking the recovery pace, maybe Robbo is potentially the bext of the old guard to leave, hopefully I am wrong as I love the guy

Think Steve Holland and some other lad did a caretaker job for a while in 2015

Nah, I’m not having that.

An odd half, really. We were cutting them open at will and deservedly took the lead, but after Mo’s “goal” was disallowed (funny how the VAR stills didn’t show Desasi in the middle, who I am convinced was playing Salah onside), we lost the plot and Chelsea were by far the better team towards the end of the half and deserved their equaliser, scrappy though it was.

Mac Allister has been class and Ibou mustard (loved that bit of play in the corner early on, as well as his sliding block a bit later) and Mo and Diaz looked full of threat; conversely, Dom looks a bit lost and Robbo hasn’t been anywhere near his best.

Jota is having a bit of a mare; been pretty anonymous and stole a chance off Dom’s toes, after the Hungarian had done well to wriggle through. Diogo has also wasted a couple of presentable chances.

Still, we’re level and can win this but we need to be better in the final third. Nunez on for Jota, and perhaps Curtis for Dom, on the hour mark and we’ll see how it goes.

Bruno, nvm commando stated it

Absolutely agree with this one, good call! It would give us more balance and more protection for our defence.

Ah, Potter’s assistant was Bruno Salter who was interim for a few games after Potter left.

Think Jones needs to come in for Jota
