Sanchez should be OFF!! As big a cock-up as the Everton non-penalty.
Relieved Luis is ok after the collision with Sanchez.
Can we just revisit all the brilliance that was that entire sequence? Joelâs pass and Luis sublime finish at full speed.
Outrageous and electric.
He also shouted âand you can tell your agent to fuck off as wellâ
Totally a red card.
Mo looks off it a bit.
BHA shithousery in full display.
p.s. Refs are rubbish.
Not sure a pass was on thereâŠ
Honestly this is what leads players to get injured. Same thing happened with Harvey, the refs âplayed onâ after clear fouls and then Harvey paid the price.
And in this case it was a BLATANT red!!
At first, I wondered whether or not it would go to VAR for a red just like at Everton (since there was a goal to check for offside, they didnât bother to check for a foul by the opposing keeper, because theyâre f**king meatheads). Anyway, when it went to VAR I was like âOK, this is gonna be a redâ â I am a cynic by nature but truly could not anticipate that it wouldnât be a red after going to VAR.
Slow start for the first 6 minutes or so, change in the game was Fabinho getting with the pace.
From that point on Brighton have barely even touched the ball. Should be leading by more than 1 but glad Diaz got the goal his general play has deserved.
Keita has been very good apart from that one misplaced pass.
Diaz and Matip probably the best players on the field do far.
Donât think Brighton are generally a thuggish team, they just canât get near us. Theyâre frustrated.
Still cannot figure out how that didnât even rise to a yellow card
Canât believe Jasper Carrott didnât have the balls to send Sanchez off. Clear red for me.
At least we got the goal. Diaz best player on the pitch. More of the same. Maybe we see Salah subbed at 60mins.
Not only do I wake up to a shite ref decision but hesgoal has decided not to stream the premier league anymore. Itâs too early for this shit
VAR is literally fucking pointless.
Sanchez very lucky not to go. I can understand the desire to try to give some benefit of the doubt and keep it 11 v11 but that was a clear decision, not made. They bottled it.
Clashed through Diaz, left leg into his chest, almost face, big hit. Not quite Schumacher v Batiston but the ingredients were there.
Diaz very brave, lovely goal.
As for Mo, generally, not sure what to make of this. He is brilliant, such a good player, such a reliable goal scorer. There are signs he is going for it individually too much. Is it because of the selfish streak all the best strikers have? Is it because, subconsciously at least, personal rewards or contract situation in the back of his mind, so he wants to demonstrate his worth?
Anyway, 1-0, another half to go.
Up the reds.
O ye of little fâŠyeah, had same thought that theyâd never give it.
Can see their thought process.
- Can we somehow rule the goal out?
- Shit, we canât. Does look a little troubling by Sanchez.
- Well, theyâve got the goal, so we can just ignore it and say it was a robust but fair challenge
Even Ferdinand said it was a red card.
And Peter Something⊠so it should be 5 reds.
I know, even Peter Walton who usually always backs the refs decision with some outlandish reasoning said that should be a red
Laughing for the âShit, we canâtâ and nothing else. This is one of those âif you donât laugh youâll cryâ situations.
Iâm sorry but Iâm having trouble letting this go. This is just a monumental mistake and there has to be consequences
And Dean and Atwell will have another match next week no consequences no problem.
Just like Thierney
