Pre Match: Brighton & Hove Albion v. Liverpool, 1230 UTC, Saturday 12 March 2022 (Premier League)

Crouch seemed really upset by that challenge. Honestly one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Not even a yellow after a VAR check. Still fuming

I know how you feel, I’ll be ranting about it for days now.

Aside from the crap that is VAR, I have had two irritations this half. One is the shadow. Why haven’t TV companies found some way of equalising the picture when there is bright sun?

My other irritation us that it’s warm enough for the flies to wale up again so I had to get the plastic fly-twatter from the kitchen and bludgeon two of the fuckers to death.

Oh, now they have highlights of the Everton game on. I think there more life left in those flies than the bitters.

Anyway, I’d quite like to see Bobby on for Mané in the second half. He’s been doing OK but I want to see our regular central players back up to speed.

I’m shocked that Luis isn’t off on a stretcher with either severe whiplash or a cracked rib.

That’s the only way we would get the red :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

My take is that at the end of the move, right before he shoots, the pass is not on. Another defender comes across and the lane is closed, so all Mo has at that point is the shot at the near post.

The pass was on earlier, especially when he wriggles away from Bissouma - an excellent move, then with head up, striding forward, there’s a better option, but Mo goes at the goal.

Possibly over analyzing it all though, as he has more than earned the right to try to score.

Still, to the naked eye, Probably should have passed, as Klopp yelled at him too.

It’s a strikers life. Mo scores and nobody is talking about he pass!

You think that would warrant a red against one of our players?

Surprised really to hear all pundits (including Rio) agree that it was a definite red. Only the VAR f*ckers seem to have turned blind.

Haha I meant we’d get a red card decision in our favour

rio is normally pretty fair

Lala on

The you used is the reason why…BLIND…

If it was Bruno Fernandes, as soon as Bissouma put a hand on his shoulder, he would’ve leaned backwards to fall without taking a shot, thereby forcing the ref to take action.

Yes, i know what you meant, i still dont think they’d get a red even if Diaz was stretchered off. That non red is spoiling a game i should be enjoying as we’re 1-0 up and seemingly in control but i just cant get past the feeling not sending him off will come back to bite us. Really think VAR that miss decisions like that need to be taken off PL duty for a year

Fuck me, we’re asleep again. That was a bad miss.

This is not about VAR missing it, but a limitation of how they allow VAR to be used. The ref saw it and simply decided that a goalie is allowed to kick an attacking player in the throat while challenging for the ball. There is nothing VAR can do to over rule it unless it can explain that the contact was different than the ref initially thought it to be. The fact there was no change in the decision suggests the ref completely saw it the same way we did. The issue is the absurdity of what we’ve somehow come to accept that keepers can do to not just put their colleagues at risk, but to actually injure them.
