The way to counter this is to create gaps by stretching wide and looking to hit the byline. Which is what we are doing.
Macca hasn’t been his best since the start. With Jones missing out this is where Elliott would have fit in perfectly. But think we need to bring on NGumoha at Left, move Szob to the middle, Frimpong at RB. Sub Macca and Wirtz.

I think the boss needs to have a loud word with him. Getting booked for a dive when it was totally unnecessary, in the first half FFS, was very unprofessional.
Anyway our performance was like a lot of yesterday’s post international break games, i.e. lackluster and lacking in energy. There will be changes and I don’t think we’ll see Macca coming out for the second half.
We need the full backs to create the width and people to run into the box…
Disappointed that Wirtz isn’t playing a little bit further forward. Grav has been our best midfielder again. Personally I’d look to take Mo off and bring on something a little different - perhaps Hugo and Gakpo up top with Endo in the middle or Rio or Chiesa replacing Mo.

Do you not think we need to play better if we want to come away with the 3 points?
Do you not think we need to play it through the lines MUCH quicker?
Do you not think we need to add a bit of intensity to cause a bit of panic in their back line and give them something to ponder?
Do you not think we need more movement to unsettle them and drag their players out of position to open up the space?
Do you not think we need to come up with a variety of ideas to be testing their keeper? The quality is there on the pitch, so why aren’t we doing it?
Grav as been head and shoulders the best made a couple of great turns to break the lines

That tackle on Macca was a nailed on Red. Half time replays confirm it. Hopefully he hasn’t broken anything and just a bruise

He was aslo the player preventing us taking a quick free kick at the end of the half that should have been a second yellow…assuming we haven’t forgotten about addressing time wasting this season.
