Pre Match | Burnley vs Liverpool | PL MD19 | Tuesday December 26th 17:30h | Turf Moor

I’m sure that Jürgen and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA :+1:

It’s Christmas for Germans. He’s overcooking the goose before getting wankered on a bottle of Glühwein.

Ljinders then? Dutch will be pleased.

When we signed Gakpo I did wonder why with Diaz and Jota as the left sided forwards but he seemed to get a good understanding with Mo and Diogo towards the end of the season. I would love Lijnders to write another book detailing how he wants our forwards to play and how they are supposed to be linking up though.

Gakpo also said in an interview last season that he did not know his role yet and I think he is still struggling with it. Playing in the midfield and chopping and changing the team also doesn’t help get some rhythm going.

Seems Jota should be back for Newcastle, Robbo I reckon mid Jan.

I’d consider Bradley for the league cup.

After dropping four points at home, this game is an absolute must win if we have title pretensions.

Yep…and then the next 19 after that.

This one has 1:1 written all over it!

Give it up mate. They are all shit and corrupt. The names don’t matter.

I was rather hoping we could have that new woman ref who was, apparently, so competent that she went unnoticed.

They’ll fast track her to the top on a reputation for competence. They will then appoint her for our game against Man City in March. She will screw us over. The official line will be that she has an established track record and any perceived injustices are nothing but sour grapes.

The cunts know Tierney has a problem with us yet he seems to referee us more than any other bent fucking bastard out there.

He made up his mind on a few of these lads before they kicked a ball for us.

I really like Gakpo. He’s a very good, intelligent footballer. Knows where the goal is. He isn’t the finished article, and there is loads to work on in his game - not least releasing the ball, rather than just running into trouble. But no worries about him at all.

Gravenberch is a long term prospect. He is still very young, and missed pre-season. That’s why he doesn’t look on the same wavelength as the others. I think you’ll see a better version of him in the second half of the season, and certainly next year.

I’m a massive fan of Elliott, but his biggest issue - certainly in midfield - is his height. He does his best physically, but it’s always a bit of a struggle. Then an additional problem is that when Mac Allister starts (which he normally would) 2/3 of our midfield is under 5’10’’. That is a hell of a lot of height to give away in midfield.

Personally I think, for now, Elliott coming on and stretching the game in the later phases in perfect for him. And then, when Salah is phased out, I wouldn’t have any hesitation grooming him to be the long term successor.

But there are worries about Núñez, who is younger than him?

I didn’t mention anything about their age. I said Gakpo has development ahead of him. The role he is learning to play for us takes a lot of leaning - as it did for Firmino before him.
