Honestly I wouldn’t have been too fussed by this decision. It’s the persistent inconsistency in the standard of the referring within a single game let alone two different ones. A simple throw in has double standards. It ends up leading you to believe that there’s some reason why it keeps happening to us and you can see the decisions going to be made against us even before they are made.

You could probably argue the toss over any individual decision with Tierney as ref. But it is the sheer quantity of calls going against us under Tierney that has alarm bells ringing. Some of them are close and subjective. Others are not. But the common denominator is this referee is biased against Liverpool.
We will have to score four goals today to win this 2-0.

Yep, the game against West Ham had a couple of tight decisions but it was so much better to watch.

My view is that it’s the finger on the scales in subjective decisions that causes most problems with VAR. They’ll get involved or not when it suits them.
They are usually (in a tight game) very forensic in looking for how to disallow a goal for us. Then for other teams (think Quansah penalty), they are looking for ways to give it.

And they think they are back in it now.
Sure. But take a peek into another fan forum, you will see the exact same comlaints about the ref being consistently against “us”. I have seen this on Villa, tottenham, City, Chelsea, Man U and probably many other forums. It is the rule: Fans will never accept that 50/50s go agains their teams, and if there is more than 1 such situation, then they invent some sort of conspiracy. It is the same everywhere and I take none of it seriously ever.
As frustrating as it is, we will do this.
