Pre Match | Galatasaray V Liverpool FC (Away) | UCL - 30/09/2025 - 8pm

Welcome to hell though to be fair that’s our performance at Palace.

Time for Hugo to show some redemption, a performance more akin to Athletico should help ahead of a tough one against Chelsea.

I’m sure that Arne and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA :+1:

So not looking forward to this…struggling to even name a XI I want to see.

All I ask is that Chiesa starts.

It’ll probably be something like this:

Alisson
Bradley Gomez vDijk Robertson
Gravenberch Jones
Salah Szoboszlai Gakpo
Ekitike

Subs: Mamardashvili, Woodman, Konate, Frimpong, Kerkez, Endo, MacAllister, Nyoni, Wirtz, Ngumoha, Chiesa, Isak.

Watching this one with a Turkish mate of mine so we’d best win

Games coming fast and we struggling for form, I would take a draw here.

Our only chance at silverware this season so hopefully we take this seriously.

A hard no on Bradley. You can’t reward someone after a game like he had today. Gomez and no Wirtz makes sense.

I’d be picking a team with Chelsea in mind.

I’d play Frimpong, Kerkez and Wirtz in this and leave them out of PL games until they earn a place. Wouldn’t have Gravenberch, Ekiteke or Salah starting either.

                         Allison

Frimpong - Gomez - VVD - Kerkez

  Endo Jones Sloboslai

Chiesa Isak Gakpo

So many players off form it’s quite astonishing.

Mac looks worse
Gakpo looks worse
Ibou looks worse
Mo looks worse
Endo looks worse (compared to under Klopp)
Squad players like Gomez, Robbo and Jones who frustrate no end.
All the new signings bar Ekitike are yet to find their feets. Wirtz has gone from playing false 9 in pre season because we didn’t have a striker at the time, to playing #10 to now being shunted to the left…all in the space of 3 months. Why?

Not interested in finding all the excuses under the sun, just find a formula that works and the players can stick to because right now there’s far too much chopping and changing.

Give it a few more games and a lot of that might radically change, why? Because some of it might be exaggerated? You’ve answered yourself in the question about Wirtz. We’re using him at #10 and in the left half space. Wow, big deal.

Looks like to please you we need to spend another 1 billion pounds to replace all our players

No point spending a penny more if we still haven’t found a set up whereby we’re getting less than the required standards from half the players.

How to find the formula that works without chopping and changing?

It’s so depressing on here.

You have to let it brew, if it’s still not working after 10 games or so then think about. Too much tinkering too soon and the players all look confused.

That’s maybe a blessing in disguise. The lads need a lot of playing time together in order to gel into a proper unit. They won’t have the time to think too much about the loss at Palace, so that will maybe help them.

I personally would prioritize the game against Chelsea at this point and rotate for this though away game. I’d go with:

Alisson

Frimpong
Gomez
Virgil
Robbo

Gravenberch
Jones
Szobo

Chiesa
Ekitike
Gakpo

Having said that I’d expect Arne to go with:

Alisson

Bradley
Konate
Virgil
Robbo

Gravenberch
Szobo
Wirtz

Salah
Ekitike
Gakpo

I hope he will rest Macca, he looks knackered

Cheer up Woolman!
It’s good that we’ve got a chance to immediately redeem ourselves. We can’t possibly be worse than the last match
