Slot is probably thinking long term with Chiesa, he’s been injury prone so it’s important to manage his minutes and give him complete rest when possible.
At the expense of match fitness???
He played 90 against Southampton so fitness is ok.
After registering Chiesa for the Championship League squad, he’s now been omitted for Tuesday’s game. He’s not injured, so I find this decision a bit confusing. If Slot is managing Chiesa’s minutes, he could still have him as an option on the bench. He won’t build up his match fitness, sitting at home watching TV.

I hope we never get into a situation where Mo or Gakpo get injured during the warm-up before the game while Fede is at home in front of his TV.
Chiesa with a small niggle. Could not finish training today. Weirdly positive rather than a deep lying issue.

No surprise 
All the journalists said he wasn’t injured and he looked completely fine during the open training session. Strange, but it is what it is now. A lot of unnecessary fuss about nothing. At least very little was said about the last game.

I’m adding this in case someone is needed to blame tomorrow.
