And yet Mo had a major shit fit about not starting against West Ham towards the end of his final season. He then went to the press to make a point of telling them he wasnt going to talk to them, despite never talking to them, because if he spoke “there would be fire”.
Mo has always responded poorly to not playing, and not in the “you want a top player to be angry about it” sort of cliche way and even legendary man manager and father figure Jurgen was not immune to being on the end of that when he had the temerity to pick a different player for a single game. It’s actually incredible how much that really poor episode has been absent from the wealth of coverage about this latest blow up.

- Mo is almost impervious to injury (unless taken down with a jujitsu move)
- Mo contributes with goals and assists more often than not.
In his mind, he probably thinks of himself as a big deal. Because mostly he has been a big deal almost all his career. Top forwards who are rarely injured and like gold dust. So it’s not unusual to think that he would take being dropped for a prolonged period of time as an affront, especially when the entire team is underperforming.
And his response to Jurgen, both in the moment and his escalation of it with the press later?
That behaviour on the line at West Ham was embarrassing. Well done Nunez and Gomez on that occasion.

This current situation seems much worse than when it was during the Klopp era. In the press conferences Jürgen kept these issues private and didn’t give the media much information.
Just what I was given. Have been spot on every time this season, so far. I would expect Dom higher up, and Curtis in behind also.
He was weeks away from retirement at that point and seemed to say it was someone else’s problem to address
