Frimpong looks weedy against opponents. If there’s a long ball over the top he invariably backs off because he’s only 5ft 2ins, or any bouncing ball to control he just gets roughed up. The physicality isn’t there and opponents are targeting him. Nothing against the lad, he’s a good sort but for me only as a RW sub at the moment. Can’t wait for Gomez to return so we can play him at RB (until his next injury).
Nyoni looked good however it’s still early days so perhaps coming off the bench. I’d partner him with Szoboszlai if anyone. So perhaps an unchanged starting midfield.
I don’t know how Gravenberch gets the nod in your lineup, what have you seen from him that lines him up with Nyoni?
Swap Munoz for Cody and I’d go with that lineup too. Grav for me provides more forward thrust and better tackling (just) than Szob who looked a bit lost in midield to me at weekend.
Nyoni is a simple equation. If he is our fourth midfielder, and worthy of taking Jones spot, then he plays against Ipswich. He was our best midfielder in pre-season, was our best midfielder against Forest, and I want to see him get the start he deserves.
I also think Barcola is on the bench and gets 15mins.
hoping that team is in… Nyoni deserves a run. i dont think he was our best midfielder vs Forest though, but thats just tin tacs, definately like to see him next to Gravenberch
cant see a line up without Dom and Macca though, just not happening.
If you play Nyoni surely Szoboszlai in theory is his best partner. Nyoni positions well and intercepts good passing and vision. Szoboszlai more physical with an engine who can pressure the opposition to force the situation for interceptions, also dynamic in his dribbling and has a hell of a long shot in his locker.
Conversely Gravenberch was best when he intercepted the ball hasn’t the passing of either Nyoni or Szoboszlai. So similar in ways to Nyoni yet not the in form option.
Gravenberch or Nyoni alongside Szoboszlai would be my thoughts leaning toward Nyoni.
Maca can come in for any of them including Wirtz which makes even more sense to this thinking imo.
We’ll see but it would be nice to know why people are thinking one way or the other.
Ok I haven’t much faith in Gravenberch again and think that’s justified as for me he hasn’t performed for quite some time now. Had an amazing time in Slots first few months but since?
