Pre Match l Brighton vs Liverpool l 20.00 Monday 19th May l Game 37

The thing is we don’t know what happened behind the scenes, once we went out against Paris perhaps Slot said to them get this league done and dusted and I’ll let you relax. Apparently they were away on the beach before Arsenal and they still put in a good performance for a half (and that’s hardly much changed from most of this season).

I think the idea was to do this break and then concentrate for this last week. They won’t want to lose the final one before the title presentation

Anyhow Salah is back managing the coffee station.

Nicked from BBC:

Here are the key lines from his news conference:

On Liverpool being ready to trigger the release clause of Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong: “We don’t talk about the players we want to bring in until they have signed for us.”

He said now is time to “draw a line under” the reaction to departing right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and to “enjoy” the feeling of winning the Premier League.

Slot said it is too early to decide whether Alexander-Arnold will play a role in the last two games because the side only returned to training on Friday.

On whether the extra days off and three training days is enough to prepare for Brighton: “If we can’t get a result there then that has nothing to do with players enjoying a few days off but it will probably be the story in the media.”

In response to the lack of game time for winger Federico Chiesa he said Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo all “deserved” to stay in the team because of their strong form when Chiesa was out injured.

But he added: “In terms of the quality then he deserves more playing time at this club or whatever club he is playing for.”

Asked if it is harder to motivate his players after securing the title: “I think the honest answer is yes.”

I gave this a thumbs up as the viewpoint has some merit, and it’s better for it to be said.

After listening to Slot’s presser, I am more than satisfied that we are being professional, with three full days to train leading up to the Brighton game.

We have been in the very fortunate position having earned margin to spare, so some rest, celebration and team bonding have been the fruits.

I must ask which one?

It was Episode 5 of “The Chase” which was somewhat worryingly called “The Death of Doctor Who”.

Or did you mean the cat. That’s some lunatic called Lulu that my son brought home, and seems to spend her time between watching too much telly and committing atrocities around the house.

HOW DARE YOU. Apologise to Lulu right now! You have quite clearly maligned her, such a cute bundle of fur can only be innocent.

Oddly thinking on this but our season comparison won’t be that different from last year result wise

Looking at 4th that also seems about par for the last CL spot. Probably the fact that unlike last year and in general recently there is a large gap between 1-2 and 2nd is grouped in with all the others.

So I struggle with listening to speech, and I try to avoid listening to things when I can read transcripts. It seems as though I need to watch the press conference for myself because Arne also said this:

Ibou hasn’t signed a contract…

He should be booed at Anfield next week and during the parade.

Let him know that he is hurting the feelings of grown ass men by not signing that contract.

Make him understand that YOU NEVER WALK ALONE does not work for players who think about joining Real Madrid.
