Pre Match | Leeds Utd V Liverpool (Away) | 06/12/2025 - 17:30pm

Have you ever heard about YNWA?

Have the whippets blown over yet? (This actually happened to one of my dogs in Scotland. I let him out to have a pee during a gale. He cocked his leg and blew over.)

I like that team, and it’s probably the best we can put out right now, based on merit.

Gakpo is a bit lucky to be in, and at some point I’d like to see Ekitike have a go in the inside left channel with Isak up top, to see if they can work in the same team.

If Mo is indeed dropped again, it will be interesting to see if that makes him think about a January move, since that is three times in quick succession. One to watch, although I think he will play out the season and move in summer.

Some people seem to think that it stands for You’ll Never Win Again.

I assume mentioning it is a much worse curse than it actually being the case.

The way the scores are going, Everton go up to 5th. We have to win tonight or I won’t be going to the pub. They will be unbearable.

You’re probably being sarcastic, but points-wise, it wouldn’t be outlandish.

In his defence, I think it was a (terrible) prediction and not a wish.

We could be up to 5th tonight with a victory, those wanting us to lose are crazy.

The final nail part is a wish.

& when you gutlessly lose 4-1 and 3-0 to shoddy sides at home, then no prediction is a terrible one, unless you’re predicting a 4-0 win.

That is true in theory. But in practice a struggling team without a solid shape that wins a few games, won’t suddenly become consistent enough to win enough games to equalise an 8 point gap before the season ends (because it doesn’t matter if only Arsenal starts losing a lot, there are many other teams in between that also have to lose and draw more than us).

So in practice, if you look at other factors than just the point gap to Arsenal, I do think it is quite outlandish. I hope for Top 4, maybe Europa League. I think we can win the Europa League next season if the team improves, as an example. That would be very cool. Not the best kind of cool, but certainly an improvement of current cool.

Yeah, me myself, I think losing 4-0 to Leeds is unrealistic at the moment, although of course it is possible in football. We are terrible, but not that kind of terrible (I think).

I don’t understand why you don’t want us to win though. I think Slot will be gone in the summer regardless, but I understand you think rushing it is best for the club.
I know you have the club in your heart, so I am not going to attack you for that opinion. But I think it is a terrible opinion to have myself and not constructive for the club. I don’t think even further collapse would result in the team improving even if it means Slot will leave before the summer. It would mean a terrible league placement, no Europe next year, less pull power and less easy to get in a really good manager and so much else. Players would want to leave. Etc., etc.

No, it is always better to end the season as high on the table as possible, in my view; irrespective if you think the manager should leave asap.

Good to see Endo on the bench, cheering us on.

I will be able to tell you within the first 10m if we are going to play the boring, slow, indecisive and unimaginative football, which will most likely Leeds(I made a funny) to a loss.

I can tell you before kick off.

I like this line-up. Having Bradley back on the right flank will do us the world of good.

Hopefully Kerkez and Gakpo will finally sort their problems and play together on the left though. Otherwise, it will make us too predictable.
