Anyway, I’d have the same starting lineup as today except for Dom back in for Jones, who was ineffective today, and Gakpo in for Jota, who has been poor for months now.
If we can’t beat Leicester, things must be really bad.
I grew up in Leicester and still live here. I’ve had to put up with the “we’ve won more/as many Premier League titles as Liverpool” shite for far too long.
Nothing would give me greater pleasure than for us to seal the title at their place whilst simultaneously confining them to relegation.
The mere thought of it does unspeakable things to me.
I wouldn’t mind Szobo feeling what meritocracy looks like when he hasn’t been in form lately. Doesn’t have to play/start all the time. There wasn’t a big performer today in his position (I thought Jones directly at #10 after 2 games and who knows how many training sessions as a RB was a bit radical, but maybe also a clue how Slot was unhappy with Szobo at Fulham), but Elliott deserves a go.
I do think a win here should in all probability be enough to win us the league. Hopefully, we begin to open up and play better after the league is assured.
Arsenal are bound to slip up (even if not at Ipswich).
Not sure it really matters who starts at this point, everything’s been trialled and tested and we still only seem able to play for 45mins of a 100min game, and it’s becoming more apparant when Salah doesn’t play well…we don’t play well…today perfectly ensapsulated that.
I’d like to see Arne on the touchline sticking it to these players a bit more, it’s become far too complacent, on the beach mentalities, wouldn’t surprise me if half the squad have already booked summer vacations.
& I’ll agree to that once something is won, this has been going on for too long now for it not to be a concern. We’ve had to see ourselves be dumped out of 3 cups in the meantime. We rode our luck in the derby, we got what we deserved at Fulham and rode our luck again today.
Is this still about Liverpool?
I can’t imagine the tantrum you’d throw, had we been chasing from second place (which, actually, would have been already much better than any fan would expect us to do before the start of the season).
We should, can, and will improve for next season. Meanwhile, we are good enough to win the League this season, which we weren’t for all but three, and haven’t done for but one of all the seasons Klopp was in charge. Wanting more than that is not too much in the realm of realism - you’re only getting the one ice cream today, better enjoy it than ask for a second.
