Away at Leicester who need a result. They’ve set-up in shape mode, with a trio of Maddison, Barnes and Vardy ready to pounce on a transitional counter, and Tielemans positioned high to try to interfere with Trent/Fab getting the ball off the defence. They started with a lot of energy.
So patience shown by us, and Pawson doing his best is no surprise. Ali has been quick off his line to intercept through balls for the Leicester forwards (Vardy with 4 touches in the first half, unless he touched it in injury time again). Ali also one good smother on Barnes.
We broke them down finally with a couple of runs from midfield to disrupt the Leicester back line. Curtis with two goals, both assisted by Salah. Gakpo with a good chance straight after the second, but hit it down the middle for Iverson to save comfortably.
Second half, nous needed. Don’t let Leicester back in it. Let them have to push up, leaving space for us.

For me we still need cover at 6, although Fab has been far better today, not just one that can tackle/cover, but someone who can helpmus play from the back

I was thinking the same about Diaz, who seemed a bit off to me. But he was firmly involved in the first goal, with a great run to head the ball towards Hendo.
I think I’m siding towards Lavia and Caicedo for the midfield now.
Lavia as understudy to Fabinho, who still has life in him.
Caicedo as replacement for Henderson, giving much needed athleticism to cover the gaps and allow Trent more freedom to do his inverted fullback role. Hendo to the Milner role, and he will do it with aplomb.
With our young breed of midfielders coming through, we’ve got a lot going for us.
