I expect this lineup tomorrow unless someone got injured during training/slipped in the bathroom.
Becker
TAA - Kabak -Henderson-Robertson
Wijnaldum - Thiago - Jones
Salah - Firmino - Mané
The only way I see us getting 3 points is if we score early then Leicester has to attack otherwise they will park the bus wait for their counterattack moment.
No Fabinho, Thiago iffy? I would leave him out then, otherwise a one game break could turn into several. Team I would play:
Alisson
Trent Kabak Davies Robertson
Henderson Wijnaldum Jones
Salah Firmino Mane
The contentious part is two new central defenders, but I would counter that by saying I want Henderson’s drive and authority in the midfield.
Kabak, let’s see what he’s made of.
Davies, 250 games in the position.
Bring it on. OK, they might have a tough time against Vardy, but equally so might Henderson if he plays in defence… or anyone else for that matter, as the pointy chinned witch is a good player!
But sod it, let them worry about us. Hendo in midfield, driving it on, protecting the defence and also cajoling better out of the front three.
I get really frustrated during matches, which surely shows after them however I’m dealing with it, just one of those things life throws up now and again I suppose, i’ve personally definitely had worst.
Yeah, I’m now at the point with all the injuries that I see the remaining matches to come as mere preparation for next season.
So, blood the new guys in, put Hendo in where he’s best and let’s see out of which stuff our new center-backs are done.
(Of course, it won’t happen. Hendo will stay back in there, partnering one of our new lads at the back, or Nat Phillips. And God knows who will play in midfield, probably the trio Gini-Milly-Jones, with no-one left on the bench to back them up…)
(Or… partner Phillips with one of the new guys? Mmm…)
Yeah, it’s pointless to play Henderson in defense when we have three CBs . Granted any combinations of Nat, Ben & Ozan isn’t as good as our regular CB partnership, but they, and Henderson, will perform better with Henderson in front of them rather than beside them.
Leicester confirm James Justin suffers an ACL injury. That’s a big deal bc he’s been one of the Prem’s most underrated defenders all season. At both ends of the pitch he’s quality.
I would have gone for @AnfieldRdDreamer’s 3-4-3 if Fab had been available, so as things stand I’d go with a 4-4-2 diamond and two real CBs. No Thiago if he’s iffy and no Bobby because he ain’ wot he used to be. Time for AOC to show us what he’s made of.
Anyway, enough in-depth analysis.
