Pre-match | Liverpool FC V Man Utd | EPL - 19/10/2025 - 4:30pm

Considering my home record is intact I thought I’d set it up, anyhow with us now resembling the walking wounded alongside our poor form who knows what team Slot will be able to put out.

It probably is Arne’s biggest test as he now faces criticism from the usual talking heads.

Basics of playing players in their natural positions if we can, only mix it if injuries dictate that.

It’s possible that we could have a couple of first choice midfielders unavailable, so I would suggest Szoboszlai plays there and one of Bradley/Frimpong play were they are supposed to.

Depends who.

If it’s Gravenberch missing, then no, I don’t want to see Szoboszlai and Mac as double pivots. Jones would probably start in that case.

Szobo probably goes in at #10, though that also depends on the situation in defence.

Although when you look at United’s midfield choices and partnerships, we might prevail there whatever we put out.

:joy:

That’s crazy though playing a CM in a CM.

Also I’m not sure anyone’s pivoting let alone double at the moment.

Heading into this in shoddy form, after shitty internationals, number of key players with question marks over them, with a light squad as it is…what better game to return to action for than a Utd side that no matter how bad they are, will come to play like prime Barca.

Yeah, can’t say I’m looking forward to this one.

I can’t wait, I wish we’d play them every week.

Great opportunity at Anfield to go up a level in performance and get a big win, kick start things.

Yeah the best thing it’s at Anfield. Away to say Wolves or someone I’d be writing it off.

We have been blessed with Michael Oliver, again. 2nd time we’ve had him in 8 games. We’ve also had Taylor and Kavanagh - 2 of Manchester’s finest - twice as well. Hooper and England (ref and VAR at the infamous Spurs game) make up the numbers.
Is there any chance, any chance at all, that one day we get a ref who isn’t an absolute cunt who hasn’t fucked us over on numerous occasions?
Difficult to predict a starting 11. A few weeks ago we had a virtually injury-free squad but all that has gone to pot.
Leoni out for season, Alisson out for the foreseeable future, huge doubts over Konate and Gravenberch, Endo?, MacAllister and Chiesa seemingly never fit, Isak not up to speed.
On top of all that we have a number of players who like like they’ve never kicked a football in their lives.
I’d have thought VVD, Szoboslai, Salah and Ekiteke were certain to start along with the keeper who’s name I can’t spell. The rest is guesswork.
United are fucking shite and I still expect us to beat them. maybe this is the one where Wirtz finally comes to the party?

We normally flying when we face this lot and we end up sucking, so here’s hoping.

It is to be remembered… Amorim will have had 14days respite to prepare his snatch and grab masterplan.
Still won’t be enough though. In the circumstances, a 1-0 victory for our boys brings the same 3points as a 7-0 win. Either would do me

The most important match of the season.
A must win!

I bet the United fans are delirious about that one. He probably gives more questionable calls against them than he does us.

He can now piss two teams around with his weird personality. It’s like Christmas has come early for him.

On the contrary, given it’s our performance more than results which had been in question I think it’ll do us a world of good if we turn up and actually beat them convincingly. And the fact that I dislike them so much.

Who is this magical ref? Do they exist

But for us, it is another midtable club looking at their yearly Cup final game
so we can expect them to raise their game for 90 minutes

Someone on the RC:

Michael Oliver been appointed as the referee ends whatever slim hope for a positive result for United.

Lucky Liverpool to be at their luckiest is what I expect will happen in this game.

According to another poster, United have never won a single game refereed by Michael Oliver. Not one :rofl::rofl:
