First half of last season Slot was a master of fixing things during half time. More than once a turgid first half was followed by a great second half. He needs to find that ability asap, otherwise our title defence will run out come December

Our tactics are awful now. Get everyone up front and hope for the best is how it looks and then have to sprint the full pitch to get back.. Theres points where we have to go from defence to attack in one pass and theres zero options in the middle third to connect it so no Utd players need to bother being out in midield.

10 years ago if someone had offered me a flukey, lucky one trick pony manager who would win us the league in his first season I’d have yanked their arm off.
If we have to spend a season in transition after so many changes to the squad then that’s fine, we won the league. So long as we finish top 4 and come back better next season then I’m good with it. Perspective.

I would substitute Macca for Wirtz. maybe gakpo for ekitike, but gakpo has been our best forward (i know thats not saying much)

Had those two weeks off and he picks an unchanged team. Writing was on the wall with that first half display. No movement off the ball and he leaves our in form attackers on the bench again.

The treatment of Ekitike tells me that Slot and Hughes had no real plan in the summer, they’ve just bought a bunch of good players and hoped it would all work out.
Ekitike has been miles ahead of Gakpo and Isak. It’s a nonsense situation for him to be sitting on the bench.
