Virg is the best 1 v 1 defender I have seen, but his positioning at times and sensing the space in his area when making recovery runs is a weakness, he doesn’t bust gut to recover.

Hopefully SLot has made some tactical adjustments. GIve 15 minutes for the first subs.

This is what I’ve been thinking. We have 1 phase build up. It’s bonkers.
Kerkez and Gakpo are terrible. Gakpo never used Kerkez’ runs so the defense just wait for Gakpo then Kerkez is out of position on any counter.

So many people are saying we don’t press well anymore… well at least the guys we bought don’t. So then is Slot going to get them to press better or is Slot changing the character of the squad. Even though he still calls us a pressing team.
Anyone with a brain has to question two masdive moments concerning Oliver.
Stop play for a head injury. That’s the protocol. Oliver sees the player down, holding his head and doesn’t react. Shameful stuff.
Then the Amad handball. And it is a handball and should be a penalty. Again, shameful stuff.

Still perplexed as to what Frimpong has done so wrong to have lost his place, his last start in the league was Bournemouth…& until he went off, it was the best we’ve looked all season that was longer than 30mins.
