He has had a lot of so-so performances with a surprising number of goals, but fundamentally the club appears to be betting that the goals will disappear rather than his performances returning to what they were a few years ago. Tonight, he was not at the level he needs to be.

Agreed on that we should have gotten the rewards with our chances we created but they did dominate us in the last game, where we only had one chance and scored

Jones absolutely did nothing. Was expecting him to unlock their defense with fresh legs - Elliott would have done much better. Atleast would have combined with Salah more times and you never know

He was still the one who was tracking back and putting in a shift. The ones who came in look more laborer than Salah who has been playing non stop and still was trying his best.

Yes he has played a lot of games and that is the crux of it, he like anyone else needs a rest or subbing off now and again.
He had more ball than any of our other forwards in an offensive sense and did nothing, even the early chance from Macca’s pull back was straight down the middle.

They did, and we did. Your decider is that they had more chances tonight than we had last week, fair play. My decider is that their chances were less unlucky than ours. And I can’t get over their offside goal.

When Jones first came on looked lively but those 2 times he dallied on the ball went into his shell then.
In 90 minutes we were by far the better team just no luck and not clinical enough.
