I’m not sure he’s the kind that would fit here now - maybe it could work but he seems like someone who thrives in that deep defensive role and I don’t think he’d offer the kind of passing or press resistance we would need.

He’s a good player putting up great numbers this season.
Mind you, I think we will sign Ugarte as a 6 for us.
The second midfielder might be McAllister, or Mount, or Gravenberch, hard to say, lots of names.

Shame we are celebrating end of season scraps here. If we had won a few more games like this over the season we would be up there giving the Sheiks a run again…

Regarding the passing Fab doesn’t offer much just jeeps us ticking over, I would prefer someone who could tackle/cover like Palhinha and be able to pass like Trent, aint asking for much

We would make it work. Too often we don’t make those tackles etc. As far as passing is concerned , It could be better but we’d find a way to play around his weaknesses. Enough of Ball playing defenders and wingbacks for it to really be a concern.
If we get him for 25-30M , considering the games being played next season , that’ll be a useful backup. We need atleast 3 midfielders and I wouldn’t be unhappy if he was the third of those.

It feels odd not being the team with games in hand
Also wouldn’t count Fabinho as finished after one poor season. He might get a rejuvenation with a slightly tweaked system and having better support.
