I wasn’t questioning his absence, just name checking him as one of the 5 players not playing today who might reasonably consider himself as a first choice player when fit.

True, I do think we will add at least one midfield. Maybe another striker depending on what happens with salah
It’s funny because people (not saying you) will think that Ox and Taki didn’t set the world on fire, but they were never expected to be the next Mane and Salah (in terms of impact). We had a lot of guys like that in the 2000s — thinking of Garcia/Kuyt/etc. — who didn’t play all the time through their whole tenure but were generally good squad players without setting the world on fire consistently. If nothing else, it was the Taki cup this year that we won at Wembley, and Ox played his part too in that run. Difference between now and the 2000s is that they are the exceptions in terms of the squad composition rather than the norm.

I agree they both played their part, but I think they also wanna play more and not jus mainly cup games. I really love OX as a person and wanted him to succeed here but after that injury he really was never the same

Taki still has a chance. Ox has had his chance and is out mentally. There’s a good player in Ox but injuries have screwed him over.

Ox had a few chances but yeah he hasn’t really done much in those other chances, Jones did and I think that’s focused Klopp’s mind. He has probably had a chat with Harvey Elliott might see him if we drop out of the league title chase but probably not if not.
I honestly think that we have the best squad in football history ever and with limited players for the bench it’s clear that somebody has to miss out.
Our squad is probably too big and that’s why some players will leave next season without being replaced.

Pogba and Matic against the Liverpool trio. Matic tires after 50 minutes. What after that ?
This is one game I wouldn’t mind Klopp starting Jones. Him pressing Matic will tire him out faster and allow liverpool to run riot over the midfield. Not that the other guys won’t do that. But Jones Vs Matic with Jones’s relentlessness and energy would pose a big problem for Man Utd.
Less than 50 as he has to cover for Pogba
So he’s essentially playing as a sole midfielder covering for Bruno and Pogba. I assume Bruno will drop back. But both of them do fuck all without the ball.
