I mean… I think losing VVD and GOmez, as well as Thiago and Jota for extended periods is probably more of a contributing factor.

Hendo filling in at centre back is a smart move .
He has more pace and weight than both Phillips and Williams .
Plus his presence on the pitch means he can move into a more forward role at times .
Make the best of a bad situation .

Since I won’t have to get up before 5:00 to watch this one, I’ve decided to avoid my bed and lend my support to the lads.
Obviously that will make all the difference as my recent absence from match time is clearly related to our recent indifferent form. I hope the lads return the favour by getting it all over with by half time. By leading 3 or 4 nil, of course.

Like everyone else I’m not overly thrilled by two midfielders in central defence, but I suppose needs must. I just hope our midfield doesn’t now get physically dominated. McTominay, for example, isn’t fit to lace Thiago’s boots, but he will be getting stuck in as he looks around and doesn’t see anyone who will put their foot in in that area of the pitch.
I’m nervous, I always am before a big game.
Shaqiri to hopefully have a big game and get a goal against Man Utd, which seems to be his thing. That will do for me!
It’s a strange situation, as for the longest time we have been out in front of the chasing pack, whereas now it feels like we need a result to stay bunched up there and not slip back a bit.

Matip missing again. Keita missing again and the club had to sign a dependable center back long ago.
We will need luck and the players will need to show a desire to fight with all they have from start till the final second.

Neither Phillips or Williams will make it here. I’m trusting Klopp’s judgement on this if he thinks having Hendo at CB makes us better defensively.

It’s a double whammy not having any CBs as we need Fab and Hendo in midfield for the big games.
Would be criminal if we weren’t working on a new CB from the moment Gomez got injured, in the knowledge that Matip is made of weetabix. Hopefully we were and will find out this week
