I think we can take it as a given that Spurs will be up for this and playing at their best. Such is the nature of end of season games when top four is on the line…
If we continue to play at our level, we will have too much for them.
Tactically there is something to be discussed with Trent, and how we protect against teams getting in behind him. He puts in a huge shift getting up and down the flank, and obviously his attacking game is encouraged by us as he is so dangerous when he is on the ball, as all the assists demonstrate, along with key passes that might not be assists but lead to dangerous situations.
So the way we use Trent is intentional, effective, and it plays to his strengths too. No qualms here.
With all that said, the slight weakness is an increased vulnerability in getting behind him. It’s not difficult to imagine Son being drilled to do that, and Vicinius Jr in the CL final too, for that matter.
What is the solution?
Konate, so we have added pace in the defence to get across?
Gomez, say for the Spurs game, to help nullify Son, and give Trent a breather?
Or is the solution to get on the front foot, with Trent, and let them worry about us?

They are a good team. We are an outstanding team.
The only ways they get anything from this game is if we are below par and/or the ref bails them out.

I am fucking nervous about this one. If we beat them I will finally be fully convinced that we will win the other 3 league games too. But Spurs are on a good run recently.
Anyone know our record against Conte?
P4 W1 D2 L1 when he was at Chelsea; just the one game at Spurs (the 2-2 draw earlier this season) so far.
Interestingly, our GD against him is 0 (6 for, 6 against) across those five games.

This seems to be Jürgen’s preferred strategy

I’m nervous about Son and our high line
As the actress never said to the bishop.

One thing about the high line is it works better at Anfield as it is more tight in, it’s more open especially at the more modern stadiums.
Well that’s what I feel anyhow when I watch us.
