Pre Match: Liverpool v. West Ham United, 1730 UTC, Saturday 05 March 2022 (Premier League)

Re:Ox.

For me , and for as long as I can remember now , he’s playing for himself and not the team. Trying too hard to impress and appearing to throw in the towel when things don’t well , which is more often than not. No matter what a nice guy he is , that’s pretty inexcusable for a professional footballer at this level , and even more so for a player in a Klopp team.

Either Elliott in a 4-3-3 or no Elliott and include Jota in a 4-2-3-1.
I like the idea of both and of course we should be able to easily switch from one system to the other in game depending on how it’s going.

Ox has been fortunate in recent games to retain his place in the squad whilst the likes of Jones and Elliott have been unfortunate to miss out altogether. Hopefully the injury situation improves soon and we’ll see what the pecking order is for the reminder of the season.

I really hope Klopp does not play Milner.

Have an uneasy feeling about this game. Keeps me reminding of

Took two weeks to move from ‘we have the full squad available and going to win the septuple’ to 'we ain’t going to win shit if Ox starts (also knowing as crying like a bitch).

What happened in the meantime? Won a trophy. Have a few short term injuries. Still on a great run of results.

Couldn’t care less if he performs bad (that’s according to the TIA experts who play too much FIFA) and the result still go our way.

By the way - Ox has scored three goals recently.

I don’t think he will, after 90 minutes at RB.

Maybe come off the bench, but not more I don’t think.

Just speaking about tactical details, which are important? Trying to think from Klopp’s point of view, not the (mostly) emotional fan one?

We can separate the fact that we’re having a very good season so far, optimism and all that and looking at the game isolated today, what are the potential strengths and weaknesses. Just like for every game.

I don’t think anyone was deluded that we would have a fully fit squad until the end of the season. On the contrary, we’re in no disaster right now.

Numerically, we are fine, but it’s the little individual cases and little partnerships on the pitch that matter also.

What does it mean recently? I’m not categorically against Ox starting today, but there are pluses and minuses. Just like with Elliott.

Ox scored 2/3 of his goals this season when he played in the forward line. He can have large periods when he’s not to be seen or not involved enough. Just like it was against Norwich, some wonderful involvement and defending that day.

I think it will be :ox: Ox hes the most experienced and should be playing every week, not great in midweek but if he wants to be here next season he has to be doing more for the team.

Today’s game against West Ham United is our dedicated #RedTogether game, where we’ll be marking our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

It’s important that we all do our part in the fight for equality in football and wider society. #RedTogether

Ifti, face it, you’re like me. We have uneasy feelings about every match.
If we were playing Swaffham United reserves, we’d be worried about their burly alcoholic centre forward, quagmire of a pitch or half a dozen fans creating a hostile atmosphere.

How will we be doing that then ?

Keita starts, great.

Jota on the bench.

Rice missing for West Ham!

One at the back, one up front. Jota to replace either. More than enough.

Happy with that. Plenty of options from the bench, including Jones and Jota.

One member of the Anfield backroom staff hears that Zouma is starting and makes a break for it.
