Speciza for them, coming to Anfield.

Phillips is not registered for this comp. It will be Rhys Williams I suspect.

we’re already through to the next round. Doesn’t matter if we finish 1st or 2nd.

Don’t think mathematically we have qualified yet. Another win and we should be, but even a draw in this one doesn’t guarantee us through.

I hope we do not get complacent and make it unnecessarily complicated at later stages, when it isn’t at present.

A draw and we will be through.
Lets get the job done asap so that we don’t have to risk our 1st team with additional games.

Not guaranteed I think. Almost certain given our GD though.

I haven’t looked at the other fixtures, but the fact that we have to play on Wednesday night, and the premier league and broadcasters have, in their wisdom, scheduled our furthest away at midday on Saturday, might mean this is better to rest some lads for.

OK.

Ajax is Tuesday night. Wolves on Sat at 3pm
M’land on Wednesday. Fulham on Sat at 3pm.

I think that works out OK for us, as we should be able to go strong for Ajax, and have enough rest for Fulham. A draw against Ajax will be enough.

So I would rest everyone again Atalanta (thanks Premier League), go reasonably strong against Ajax, and then send the catering staff to play the last game.

Unfortunately, right now, we have three fit midfielders, and one of them is covering full back. Thiago, Hendo and Ox are getting closer, but if we get another midfield injury midweek, we’re really fucked.

I think we go strong. Get job done then rest everyone for the 2 dead rubbers.

Against Midgetland is also early kickoff in the CL.

Two days between Leicester and Atalanta. Two days between Atalanta and Brighton. I guarantee if we go strong against Atalanta and then again again Brighton, we are going to get another hammy go - probably Gini or Robbo. These lads are being pushed to the point where injury is becoming an eventuality.

Given we only need probably a point to see us through, I think it would be irresponsible to go strong on Wednesday.

We’re moaning about injuries, but if we have the opportunity to rest lads and don’t take it, especially in the middle of a sequence of three games in six days, we have no right to complain.

By the way, what the fuck is wrong with the premier league. Why are the scheduling Sat 12.30 KOs for CL teams playing the previous Wednesday. They did the same to Utd. It’s perverse. Every other league protects their CL participants because they know that their teams going deep into the CL is good for their league. And it’s not in their interests to have players injured.

They way it’s going teams are going to be playing U18s by spring. Sell that to the world, you stupid short-termist wankers

Early bedtime for sleepy and bashful.

Start strong, put it to bed by half time then bring on the kids then play the ground staff in the remaining group games. A win puts us through and whilst we’re currently hamstrung by injuries (groan) it might get worse. Sprightly 45 minutes at home, 3-0 up then put the talent back in the box and watch the future demolish them

But as Tyson once said (I think) “Plans are all well and good till somebody punches you in the face”

@Mascot
Understand you point of view but being able to rest the whole Starting11 against Ajax and M’land is priceless for the coming weeks and months.

So for me going strong this week is a risk worth to take.

Yes, but I think if we go into the Atalanta game thinking we can ask some of these lads to go to well again, and then again at Brighton, we’re asking to lose players for months. I am very worried about Robbo, Mane, Gini and Bobby in particular.

Don’t envy Klopp managing this.

Remember when Atalanta were the flavour of the month in European football??

I think something happened when they ran into the actual flavour of European football…

Go for the win to wrap up the qualifying. We don’t want to half arse this game and allow both Ajax and Atlanta back within sniffing distance.

Use the five subs intelligently. Taki and Divock should be training strong together to link up if they start or if they come on the 60 minute mark.

No surprises Shaq came back injured from international duty. Same old, same old.

Win this game and the remaining two games become as significant as a League Cup third round tie.

Go nuts :peanuts:

Play Gini, Robbo and Mane in this and Brighton, and I think it’s certain we lose one for months.
