Pre Match | Liverpool vs Burnley | PL Matchday 19 | Thursday January 21st 20:00h | Anfield

If Matip plays tonight then fucking hell. Couldn’t face United (critical game) but can run out 4 days later against cannon fodder??? I’m curious as to what kind of injury means the above happens except for DSism. Gerrard would have had a field day. I’d have killed myself to get on the pitch against United, as would hundreds of thousands of fans. Oooooh my groin hurts a bit but it will be better for full tilt physical exertion in a few days? Molest me not with your pitifully nanoscopic ailments.

I would honestly take an @Lowton_Red scrappy 1-0 to us to be honest.

Here’s hoping that Boudica has made the appropriate sacrifices this time round.

This is the most important game of the season, well at least it will be until the next one. It’s an absolutely must win game.

Once more PGMOL has delved into its kays alhayl, and has come up with mike “plazzie jasper” dean on refereeing duty whilst lee “piggie” mason is on VAR for tonight’s match.

While I may have failed to express my opinion on the matter in the past, which is somewhat remiss of me, I shall remedy that deficiency now: expect nothing from the ref, or VAR, and you won’t be disappointed.

For, in the words of Millie, after all, you do grow up, you do outgrow your ideals, which turn to dust and ashes, which are shattered into fragments; and if you have no other life, you just have to build one up out of these fragments. And all the time your soul is craving and longing for something else. And in vain does the dreamer rummage about in his old dreams, raking them over as though they were a heap of cinders, looking in these cinders for some spark, however tiny, to fan it into a flame so as to warm his chilled blood by it and revive in it all that he held so dear before, all that touched his heart, that made his blood course through his veins, that drew tears from his eyes, and that so splendidly deceived him!

He has a lovely way with words, does our James. Dostoevsky couldn’t have put it any better.

So, come on you Redmen, Gie it laldy!

Following our most recent match @Noo_Noo expressed an opinion which, upon reflection, he may rather wish that he had kept to himself. He suggested that the Mem was slipping and that she should put more effort into her банановая кожура rituals, even going so far as to propose including burning at the stake or quartering.

I accept that the fault is no doubt with me, but Boudica is not the shy, retiring, gentle and demure creature he might have apprehended from my pre-match soliloquies.

To put the record straight; Boudica needs no such encouragement. When the Mem lets her angry passions rise, which is frequent, out pops the cloven hoof; strong men climb trees, pulling them up after them. As @Klopptimist will undoubtedly vouchsafe, the Mem is the curse of the North and a menace to one and all. She chews broken bottles and kills rats with her teeth; she wears barbed wire next to the skin and conducts human sacrifices by the light of the full moon.

I have little doubt that @Noo_Noo’s words will encourage her to break out her matching pearl handled, Damascus steel gelding shears. On his head, and other bits, be it. Especially if he keeps pinching our lines.

Meanwhile, Lawro, a man who in times of stress tends to resemble the Aged Parent in an old-fashioned melodrama when informed that the villain intends to foreclose the mortgage, has reminded us that we have just gone four league games without a win for the first time since February 2017 and predicted a 2-1 win to us. He makes the Ancient Mariner look like one of the Chuckle Brothers.

Hopefully his attempted kiss of death won’t throw a spanner in the works and upset the apple-cart.

I’ll take a scrappy 1-0 win to us. :astonished:

So, you can’t get fit in four days??? That’s the argument???

That fucker Matip, if he wasn’t so mentally weak we could have conceded 0 goals against United instead of the 0 we conceded.

Roy Hodgson would have made him play through the pain. :uk: :muscle:

Personally, United or not, I’d be fielding a rotated side at United.

The way it’s gone in the league lately, we need to focus entirely on the PL until the CL kicks in.

Tonight is more important, especially with a couple of tough league away games after it.

Don’t be daft, Henderson (our best midfielder) would have given us a huge boost played where he should.

Even if form has not yet been found and other teams are currently better than us, this is at home and against an opponent with blatantly worse players all over the pitch. We have had a nasty series of draws now, but this will be a win. I will follow this game with the eyes of Argus though, since we are out of time now when it comes to find form. We will win this anyway, but I fervently hope we play actually well and that I can see signs of actual coherency and good form. If not, then it’s biting nails again until the next game, praying that we can reach something close to top form ASAP.
