Rhys Williams instead of Davies? Ben must still be injured.

MASSIVE game in midweek.

Liverpool’s teamsheet shows seven changes for today’s clash, with Neco Williams, Nathaniel Phillips and Rhys Williams beginning in defence.

James Milner and Naby Keita start in midfield, while Diogo Jota and Xherdan Shaqiri are handed berths in attack.

Roberto Firmino misses out due to a minor knock.

Liverpool: Alisson, N. Williams, Phillips, R. Williams, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Keita, Shaqiri, Salah, Jota.

Subs: Adrian, Fabinho, Thiago, Mane, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Tsimikas, Origi, Alexander-Arnold.

Given the first team have been so poor of late, I can’t argue with that team. All about the Champions League now anyway…4th is gone.

Not even nervous about league games now.

I guess I can’t complain… I did say play 442 and drop the underperforming players haha.

Interesting one.

Irrespective though, this is Anfield, it used to mean something. Have some pride lads, fight for the shirt, snap into tackles… That’s all I want to see.

Klopp is obviously thinking about the Red Bull game in mid week.

After all the slating I’ve seen of Klopp for not shaking things up, he’s went and done it. Fair play.

Suspect if we don’t win those that were calling for the shake up will moan it was still not right.

And so he should. This game is irrelevant now.

After the last few weeks… Why not!

Hope Shaq is in no10 position rather than shunted wide.

Milner will have to provide cover for Nico, and shore up with GIni to protect the CBs. Let Salah be the furthest forward.

We’ve all been asking for something different, and different it is.

Keita in there as well. Doesn’t matter if 0-0 at 65 mins. the shake up means a strong bench. Get Fulham tired, and unleash Mane on them if needed.

Oh. Ben Davies - you get transferred out of the blue to a top team who has an unbelievable CB injury list. The real Roy of Rovers stuff…and you get injured and see a kid make a first team start ahead of what probably would’ve been your game.

That’s the selection of a manager who is not confident a two away goal head start is going to be enough to see off Leipzig.

The central defence looks fucking awful.

What a starting lineup, pity I can’t watch it. Could be really interesting for us moving forwards, or pretty grim. For all our new toys in defence, the Liverpool curse marches on.

At this stage I’m fairly certain we’ll be playing whichever U18 centrebacks we can find at the end of the season. Assuming they’re not already injured.

The selection is putting pressure on the likes of Salah, Robbo and Gini to take responsibility.

Asking the likes of Shaqiri and Keita to step up.

And trying to see if Rhys and Nat can help freeing Fabinho for midfield.

Suppose if Kabak or Davies had been fit then he would have started one of them.

Fabinho looked really leggy on Thursday, I assume if we have a lead to protect he may come on.
