They didn’t telecast the first leg, wonder what’s going to happen this time.
I still think with Trent and Robbo as wing backs we end up with, effectively a 2-5-3 formation. This is a classic attacking formation provided one person is controlling both goalkeeping and defensive duties:
The key here is to get Shaq into midfield since he is just about the right size and if he is proving ineffective we can just spin him round really, really fast until he hits something - hopefully in the right direction.
PSG-Barcelona will be a big draw on TV, they will broadcast that. Luckily I have Dutch commercial TV (Ziggo) that will broadcast almost everything, Liverpool, due to Wijnaldum and van Dijk but I also have a somewhat illegal, well call it for what it is: totally illegal receiver that gets me all the SKY and BT channels and if necessary the broadcast 20 BEIN channels too.
It’s safe to say that if someone puts a camera next to a pitch where Liverpool plays I’m able to see them play.
I’ve just noticed that, in Germany, the match is on Sky and not DAZN.
The local broadcaster has 3-4 channels and they have shown multiple games (simultaneously) during group stage. I don’t know what have gotten into them since the KO round. They didn’t even show the Juventus vs. Porto game last night.
Yes. I will be able to watch that in Ultra HD tonight.
So our crapiness will be revealed in even more detail?
You are in a foul mood my friend, try some Chicken Korma
Not enough chilli.
Chicken Rezala
of course along with VAR failures.
Hang on that doesn’t happen in Europe does it?
You’ve clearly got a flair for this, I’ll be following your career in football management closely.
With the way TV works, I’m not surprised they’re showing PSG v Barca. When I was a kid I’d be surprised, but for a long time now not anymore.
F*ck them, luckily these days there are plenty of solutions.
Re tonight, all the best to the lads.
Re Klopp getting sacked, it’s ridiculous to even contemplate it during what is effectively a season of glorified training sessions with no fans. You can’t measure a manager on this season.
In fact, I’d argue that it may be a blessing in disguise to have what might have been a shit season anyway, after three years of intensity, during the season fans can’t attend.
We’ve seen our issues laid bare - too many injury prone players, and too many players who are not good enough to rotate in without results being risked, thus the better players getting overworked and burning out.
Klopp has been outspent during his time here by far smaller clubs, and has over delivered.
The next stage is to cut losses on over paid underperformers, injury prone players, and those who probably need a new challenge, refresh the squad with a net investment that averages up the 13th highest net spend in the PL under Klopp, to something which reflects what we’re trying to achieve, and take it from there.
Sell Matip or Gomez, get a few players who won’t play enough like Neco out on loan. Get rid of Oxlade, Shaqiri, Origi, and see which of our better players want to move. We know Gini does, that one of the front three probably will, that Milner might be about to hit the wall at this level as SG did, and that even Thiago might fancy a quick return to Bayern, or a return home to Spain.
Then fill the gaps with some quality signings and possibly returning loanees like Minimino and Elliott.
Personally I think we need a top class centre back, someone who can cover right back better than Williams, a couple of midfielders and maybe a forward.
This is over to FSG now. They’ve ridden the wave of steady progress on limited net investment through good management, and made LFC into one of the top clubs in Europe. We have had a crisis, the issues are obvious, it’s now time to act like a top club and back one of the world’s best managers before not doing so ruins him.
If, the lads get to the last 8, does the club benefit from any Champions league dividends?
I agree with you on everything you said about Klopp. Biggest lift I’ve had all week is Klopp fucking off the Germany rumours, and then Gerrard weighing in too.
But I’m a bit unsure about the squad rebuild stuff. Your main barrier to £150m Being dropped on this squad might actually be Klopp himself.
He is incredibly loyal to his players, and this might actually be his biggest fault. It might need someone to sit down with him, with the data, and tell him that 4-5 of his first team are fucked. My aim, after what we’ve been through would be to look at improving the resilience and robustness of the squad - but I don’t think Klopp is going to bin any of Matip, Gomez, Keita, Shaq or Ox lightly.
@Lowton_Red For the first time in months, myself and the family must journey out into the dystopian reality which is Covid Britain. Accordingly (and given jnr’s proclivity for magical beasts) can you signal the Mem via semaphore to request that she calls at Kenyon Hall Mythical Creature Rentals, purveyors of everything from unicorns to krakens, to mount a proper charge at The Red Lion about 3:20 as we’ll be driving past? Pink and yellow garb would be optimum as she’s a little young for well hammered breast plates and horned helmets.
It’s going to be a 0-1 loss isn’t it. It just has to be. They score in the first 4 minutes and we all age 50 years in the following 90 minutes. T’was ever thus.
Then we win the gorgeous thing and it’s then all champagne and strawberries for the summer
Would be interesting to know if tonight is the first time in EU competitions that both games are played at the same/neutral ground?
€10.5 million
That’s alright for the kitty in summer.
