Good half, we’ve generally done alright. City have got through this season by going an early goal up and then seeing out time against sides not wanting to get battered. I’m happy to make them work for this.
My first look at the penalty, in real time, was defo pen, so I’m not going to get on Oliver’s back for not spotting that Young Master Raheem leaves a leg dangling to win it. I don’t think it’s a clear and obvious error, so VAR can’t overturn it.
Other than that, we’ve done OK but we’ve got to be quicker in transition. We’re dwelling too much on the ball and allowing City back in shape. They are so quick to get back, so you have got to be on them quickly.
We’ve also got to be willing to play the risky final ball. It’s fine to turn over possession near their box. We’re ignoring runners and chances because it’s a 50/50 ball. Go for it lads. You won’t win the raffle if you don’t buy a ticket.

The first 20 minutes, I thought we were West Brom.
Agreed with the people wanting Kabak on and Hendo in midfield. Unfortunately because of his yellow i think it should be Thiago that comes off, he really needs to learn to tackle less recklessly

City are defending much deeper and more compact than in previous games, on the few occasions that we’ve got them short we slow it right down and let them get back in to shape. Just need to get the ball moving quicker to draw them out.

Was hit fast by Mo, hand wasn;t far out, and yet it wasn;t in that shadow thing they keep talking about. No clue.

Yup he seems to get a blatant yellow every game now. I like that he wants to get stuck in but needs to reign it in a bit
Niether is being decisive. In the first minutes they were both fucking around. Gini seems to have improved so yes keep him on (and we know he can play 90 mins).
In the first 30 minutes, we played way too careful, playing backwards when there was space to play forward. Mané should have scored with the header.
I think a Sterling plays for it. He’s already going down before there is any contact. Doesn’t matter though, I said I thought it was a pen first time seeing it.

Best we can hope for this season is to see games like this out without losing. Then hope that we can have a strong run in once our casualties have returned…we might get close but I fear too much damage has already been done by not doing better against the bottom half teams. Bit of arrogance on our part I think, that we thought we just needed to turn up and get something. Nothing is guaranteed in this league. We should have given those games more respect. It’s not over yet but we are going to need a lot of luck from now…
