Score flatters is to be fair
The formation change makes sense given the need for rotation and where we have squad depth. The problem is we haven’t adjusted our play to suit it. In the 4-3-3 the passing triangles are between the wingers, fullback and wider centre mids. In the 4-2-3-1 those triangles aren’t there but we keep trying to play down the wings. If we’re playing in this formation we need to play through the middle. This formation would work better, with Thiago and/or Fabinho in one or both of the holding roles
