Pre Match | Liverpool vs. Midtjylland | CL Matchday 2 | Tuesday October 27th 20:00h | Anfield

Without the three + Tsimikas out…

  • I think we will start with Trent, Fab, Joe and Andy at the back. Probably the Williamses to come from bench.

  • Milner starts in midfield and switches to LB later.

  • one of Wijnaldum or Henderson to start the other coming from bench.

  • one of Firmino, Salah or Mané to start.

4-3-3

Alisson
Trent Fab Joe Andy
Wijnaldum Milner Jones
Shaqiri Jota Mané

or 4-2-3-1

Alisson
Trent Fab Joe Andy
Milner Wijnaldum
Shaqiri Minamino Jota
Salah

I think we will start with Adrian in goals. I personally believe we pushed Alisson ahead of schedule for the SU game because of their style of play. I think we will give him the game off to continue he recovery.

I’d go with:

Kelleher

N Williams Fabinho Gomez Robertson

Milner Wijnaldum

Shaqiri Minamino Jota

Origi

Let Alisson have some extra time before the weekend, rest the front three, give Henderson, Thiago, Keita that extra time as well. Also, and this is really, really important. Drop Adrian.

What the hell happened to Tsimikas?

He’s skiving. We can’t say we weren’t warned.

Sightings of the Lesser Spotted Tsimi have been quite rare. Shy and retiring they balk at loud noises and being addressed directly and I believe the first encounter with the Common Milner has disturbed the Tsimi into flight and a desire to seek out shelter.

Ideally, put the match to bed by the first half so that Klopp can ring in the changes and conserve the players. Get Matip for Fabinho/Gomez, Trent for Neco, Thiago getting some game-time and probably get Salah out and then another midfielder in.

Agree, Get a good result against this team to have some breathing space. The likes of Ajax and Atalanta are good teams and with our injuries right now , have more than enough to give us a tough battle. Don’t want to get into those battles. Play a strong team against Midtylland , get the results against them so that the qualification remains in our hands.

Ajax and Atalante taking points off of each other only helps us more.

Matip, Tsimikas, Keita, Thiago will not feature this evening.

Just get this done. The amount of football at the moment means Klopp has to use the squad.

Shaqiri, Minamino, Milner and Jones won’t be regular starters but are good enough to win this. The way the PL is panning out we need to have everyone fit for West Ham on Saturday.
Pity Thiago is out as a half hour here without breaking sweat would help him gel with those around him.

gronnemark still does work for us both. he’s a freelance. in fact, in a curious twist, he has worked to some extent with every team in the group

Crap.

Nat Phillips, Billy, Wijnaldum & Jones then. Although I’d personally save Jones for future matches

The referee is Paweł Raczkowski from Poland he was never in charge of a Liverpool or Midtjylland match before.

Jurgen Klopp on Midtjylland: “Very interesting project. In my break 5 years ago, I was interested to go there or Brentford for a while just to see what they do, but I signed for Liverpool so I couldn’t.”

I heard they have a guy named christian poulsen playing in the midfield tonight and is a beast. Anyone know much about this lad!?

Hope it’s not him

It can’t be him.

Interesting article imo, I didn’t know anything about them. Now I know that they are a set piece specialist team, I really hope we are prepared for that.

There will be some rotation, but the team needs to still be strong. Home against the lowest seeded team, which means that a slip up will cost us dear for the following four games. Get the win, and Atlanta and Ajax can take points off each other.

We got West Ham on Sat evening, followed by away at Atlanta next Tuesday.

I was thinking, Middymen from Middyland.

All I ask, is or a straightforward win tonight, without any drama please and no further injuries. Is that really too much to wish for?
