I thought it was very telling that Lijnders said that Diogo is equally technical as our front three. That suggests to me that he is going to be used a lot more than simply being a super sub.

Good save by Alisson, did well to keep his positioning with it from that close.

My view is Gomez had his feet planted, he had a long time to see that cross, he was in position, not stretching or trying to clear a difficult cross or anything like that. It was easy to deal with and he should have cleared it better.

Still, game on and that’s my last comment. I like Gomez and only see 2-3 better central defenders in the whole Prem.

Look disjointed going forward since the season resumed which is odd as the forwards and most of the midfield options are the ones we’ve used when we’ve torn teams to shreds.

Yes teams may be sitting deeper but it’s not like they haven’t done that before. Is it a bit of physical and mental fatigue kicking in? Is it a lack of alternatives due to injuries? Is it because Bobby is woefully out of form and he makes us tick?
