Thought we played fine considering our lineup tbh. Robbo and Gomez with bad decisions at the back, not getting tight enough - some of which I’m willing to write off as a lack of sharpness.

That Mahrez first touch (City players often say he’s the one with the best first touch at the club) was pure filth to be fair, we gave to give him some credit as well. Robbo must do better there, but it’s also the attacker who made the biggest difference.
That Ref is awful, he is a Manc right? Everytime i see that he is involved in officiating one of our games either be it on the pitch or involved with VAR, i fear the worst.

Manchester City v Liverpool: Investigation after girl, 15, injured - BBC News
Police are investigating after a 15-year-old girl was injured at the EFL Cup tie between Manchester City and Liverpool.
The girl was treated for head injuries at Etihad Stadium on Thursday.
Greater Manchester Police said it was also investigating an assault on the junction of Ashton New Road and Alan Turing Way.
A man was also arrested for a racially aggravated public order offence, the force said.
A further two men were arrested on suspicion of trying to take a pyrotechnic into the ground.
Manchester City won the tie 3-2, seeing off cup holders Liverpool.
GMP’s match commander, Supt Gareth Parkin, said: "We are aware of a number of objects, including coins and a smoke bomb, that were thrown during the match.
"We will be investigating the incidents and reviewing CCTV from the night.
“Clearly throwing objects in a confined area can be dangerous, and have serious and sometimes devastating consequences.”
Anyone who throws a bottle is a fucking coward. Should be banned for life.

What is particularly maddening is that we made out in the world cup about as well as we could have hoped. Of other big prem teams, City had the most players play a large number of minutes. Spurs had the most players kept away through the final. Other than Konate we had everyone back aftet the QFs with several key players not playing very much. You’d hope that would mean we’d come out of the break in a good situation, yet here we are dealing with new fitness issues from players who didnt even go to the tournament.

In regards to Mahrez and him having too much space, the same was happening with Milner, we are always open to the switch of play as our fullbacks tuck in too much and it seems that us what they are coached to do. This then gives the space for their wide player to get the ball under control and attack our full backs, the switch becomes easier for the opposition when we press incorrectly.
Aye, there is definitely an element if it being the decision on where we wanted to leave space. The issue on that goal was less there being the space out wide to switch the ball into, but in Robbo overcommitting on a guy the entire stadium knew was going to cut back onto his left foot as soon as he could.

It’s a weird article that doesnt report on facts that are in the public record. Presumably they are trying to be extra cautious given the pending nature of the investigations and cases, but isnt this where you can just lean heavily on the word “allegedly”?
Most other sources are reporting that multiple objects were thrown out of the visitors end, with the reported injury being caused by a bottle. No one seems to have been dealt with over those incidents in real time.
The racially aggravated public order offense was supposedly a city fan verbally abusing a disabled Liverpool fan, and the fan was deal with and removed from the stadium and seemingly charged.
One of the things that has characterized the growing ugliness of this fixture is the utter reluctance of groups among both sets of fans to acknowledge their own wrong doing and so lack of desire for their own to be held accountable. Oddly vague reporting like this, that refuses to identify which groups of fans to did what to whom when it’s known, probably contributes to that.

I just had a search,the article I linked to didn’t mention bottles at all which is why I asked the question.
The media are full of bias and shit reporting for clicks and revenue in general.
It’s a shame when you hear of incidents at games especially when it involves your own club but this is a result of a hostile rivalry that’s been brewing for 5+ years and a pattern I can only see continuing…how do you go about repairing a toxic relationship between fan bases in football? You can’t.
You’ll hear these stories in games like Utd City Spurs Arsenal Birmingham Villa Liverpool Everton Liverpool Utd Liverpool City. Places that share genuine rivalry and animosity.
