I’d get Diaz on now for either Mane or Salah. Neither are in form.

My thoughts: We need to keep ball Better upfront. Bobby may be an option but he is out of form so I’d add in Diaz for … Who? We need an extra player here! I think a 4-2-4 maybe if we don’t improve in the first 10-15mins. Take off either Thaigo or Fab perhaps? I’d like to push Mo more central and perhaps have Trent push fwd and Fab play RB? We need to pull the citeh side out of shape as our passing and movement alone haven’t been sharp enough
When we are in possession they are ensuring that Thaigo is picked up as they know he is the only one that has the poise to keep good possession. Our next evolving as a team is to have better ball playing midfielders, not saying ours are bad but effort is their wheel house but can be pressured too easily.

Mane is playing a very deliberate defensive game, dropping deep to cover KDB. If you want Diaz to come on to add more attacking output then asub is not going to resolve that unless we modify tactics as well.

I kind of feel that our rocket scientist boffins will have picked up on something, feed that in to the football genius brains in the changing rooms, and we’ll come out and destroy them for the next 45 minutes.

I’ve seen so many comments about not trusting Naby defensively and virtually 0 acknowledging how easily Henderson and Fabinho were beaten at Anfield by the likes of De Bruyne and Silva.
We need players in there that are quicker off the mark, Naby is one of them. Fabinho is having an absolute disaster of a game just like he did at Anfield.

May need to drop the attackers back a bit and provide more options for the build up phase.
Also we’re being flummoxed by the delay in offsides call and its creating great uncertainty

At the moment, it could still go anywhere, particularly once City are gassed. We’ve been playing like this for a long time, just managing the game (relatively speaking) until we can slowly grind out the win. People expecting us to go full-throttle for 90 minutes are being thoroughly unrealistic. We’ll probably not pick up the pace in any way at all, just that City will lose theirs.
