Only 2-1, phewww… it could be 4 or 5-1 to be fair. Our defence gets run ragged all the time. The situation really needs to be addressed by Klopp and his lads.
Also, our transitional play is getting snuffed out by Cheaty’s midfield for the time being, which means that our forwards can’t get brought into play often enough.
So, a lot of things to address for Kloppo, but on the brighter face, it’s only 2-1, and Cheaty might be left to rue all these chances which didn’t go in during the first half. Also, a bit of arrogance or self-satisfaction could creep into their game, who knows, so let’s hope for the best. Maybe we can sneak back and then take the game to them. Fingers crossed!
The most timid half of football I’ve seen us play since Virg arrived. The players looked as nervous as us fans have been feeling this last week. Shades of the thrashing when Sadio got sent off.
Trent has been targeted. Our offside trap has been targeted. Both have crumbled. Without question we have been totally outplayed and out-coached that half.
Fortunately football is 90 minutes. We saw plenty of times in that half that we could have opportunities and city would even gift us some. But we need to be positive. We need to play positive. Get some fucking ball retention. In fact, just get some of the ball. Attack instead of tentatively give the ball back to them without a whimper. Klopp needs a half time talk to end all half time talks. The message must be that we are definitely still in this. I pray that city rue their missed chances.
Taylor allows Shitty to take the quick free kick before the opening goal 10 yards from where it should be. CAn guarantee if we did that he would’ve pulled it back.
I just don’t if I trust Naby defensively for him this early. I’d nearly go with Joe. Think he’s improved going forward and surely is better defensively than Trent. The whole backline is shocking hopefully Jürgen goes mad. Fabinho needs to sort it out and Hendo. Millie is finished at this level maybe last 10 if we winning. Diaz for Sadio i would have. Bobby I’m not sure if we are looking for a goal
