Pre Match | Manchester City v Liverpool | PL Matchday 8 | Sunday 8 November 16:30 | Emptihad

Criticizing Gini won’t be fair for this game tbh, they have midfield superiority in numbers and it isn’t simple once our press up top is beaten. Acres of spaces and De Bruyne who’s the best in the business to exploit those. Jota is way way more effective through center and left. he has that killer instinct and in form of his life; the more we get him in this game, the better. Think we might see Naby at some time, midfield is where this game will be won/ lost.

We are good going forward, the decision making in the final box needs to improve.

I don’t know what match you’re all watching, but Gomez and Matip have been great, Bobby looks much better than he has for a while, and we really should have had more than a single goal.

It’s also obviously a penalty, not that I think there is much he can do about it, and we’d be fucking fuming if we didn’t get that other way. But obviously big Kev does the right thing by his favourite club.

Pretty exciting to watch though maybe a bit too nerve-wrecking. 45 mins went by fast

True enough, he has lost the ball in dangerous positions, leading to dangerous City attacks. I just don’t like how easily they play around Gomez, he seems a bit too slow, but fair enough, you may be right.

Anyway, I think we can still beat team with both Gomez and Gini on the field. But ideally, they could have been better. I am not disappointed about the performance in any case. City is a super strong team on their day, I never expected us to batter them. But I do think, overall, that we have been the best team in most of the half. They have been dangerous too of course though, and we have been slightly too imprecise.

Considering the formation change, very happy with what they’ve shown.

Reports of our demise are woefully premature.

I know, right!!?? Play Alisson up front and put Bobby in goal that will really confuse them

Gini was too poor on his touch he doesn’t receive and turn effectively as a player which is his only weakness as a 6 or holding CM. But everyone makes a mistake thats why we have 10 more players

Brilliant from Keane:

Host: How does Mané earn himself a penalty?
Keane: Because he’s up against an idiot.

This could be the stupidest comment ever made on these forums. The beauty of having a world class keeper is that we have a world class keeper.

Parenting.

Precis??

The defense hasn’t been the problem IMO. Gomez doing good. The spaces our full backs are leaving needs to be tightened and we should be ace. An additional midfielder would make us more solid by looks of it.

Well that was a delicious half, even if the scores are 1-1. From Sterling forgetting to dive at the time of supposed contact and not 12 seconds later, to us getting a penalty for a much more convincing dive - but a dive nonetheless - 30 seconds later, to City getting the most awful handball call (WTF - Gomez was literally rotating his body to get out of the line of the ball you dopy cunt ref) and KDB showing he’s a true red by missing the target for the penalty. Apart from a penalty shootout I cant recall any outright misses like that?

Glorious. Keep this up boys. By the end of the night Pep will be going full Trump and the world can have a perfect week.

What? Gini has been fucking great. He’s taking the ball with three lads around him and managing to pop the ball off every time. I think he’s been caught maybe once?

Is the improvement in Bobby enough to cover for the change in formation for me its not.

We seem to play the wrong ball for the final pass… Front 4 are playing very close to each other… Its like you are spoilt for choices and once you lose the ball we are on trouble with De Brune… Bobby has been very ordinary but that’s when he scores a silky goal and its more than time he does…Been in his longest barren run in terms of scoring… Think he will have 15 minutes before Klopp subs him for Shaq…

“Because he is up against an idiot” Roy Keane.

Seriously, that guy is so filled of venom. Amusing now, but if I had been Walker or known him, I would be pissed off by that. But that’s Roy Keane for you. Blunt and blunt and uses poisoned daggers as words.

Excellent for 30 minutes. Could have been a couple more up with the right pass.

Shitty got back in for the final 15 mins, and the penalty handball is one of those that would only be given this season. Destroying the game, and needs a rethink for next season.

As for the second half, feel that need a more traditional midfield three, and let the top three do the business. Shitty will get another big chance, but so will we. Depends who takes the chance first.
