Pre Match Newcastle v Liverpool (Away) 25/08/25 8pm BST

Watching Gordon get a red was almost as good as watching Rio get the winner.

Certainly isn’t the player from Bournemouth at the minute.

He’ll be fine.

You don’t fluke a whole year like he had.

Great result and wonderful from Rio. But let’s not get carried away. Newcastle had a player sent off, lost their best midfielder and their enforcer and we still gave them two cheap goals to nearly win the game. That isn’t good, and it’s something they will need to sort out. If we think Newcastle were a pain on set pieces, Arsenal are up next.

He was half a second from saying what the fuck?

HAHAHAHAHA

This thread would be fucking ugly right now if young Rio hadn’t popped up at the last minute.
I thought we’d lose tonight and said some fucking harsh things when that equaliser went in so I don’t really feel in a position to celebrate/gloat too much, just happy to get the 3 points and forget all about what was essentially another fucking horror show from the first minute to the last.
We are a poor team right now and have been for some time. Slot has his work cut out and it is absolutely vital we make at least 2 more signings before the window slams shut, it’s pretty obvious to everyone where those re-inforcements are needed.
Virgil MOTM tonight by a fucking mile, Grav and Szoboslai were decent but the rest were somewhere ranging from average to terrible. Kerkez needs dropping already, his defending for the 1st goal was fucking pathetic.

Back of mind from start hes had sometime a move is too big for the player hopefully this is misplaced.

It’s a fair concern.

He just needs to get comfortable being on the biggest stage in the league…how many feral crowds like that will he have played in front of? Not many, I’d wager.

I’ll still be commenting on how shit we were this match. But right now. It’s all Rio baby

Just need Leeds to beat Newcastle at the weekend now.

Leeds conceded 16 goals from set pieces last season.

Ah well, you never know.

We got out of jail, outstanding players were Virg, Szob, Grav and Jones, Star player Rio :glowing_star:

I’m sure many have mentioned it but we have to control games better and not get dragged into making silly fouls when a teams only chance are set pieces.

What really Irks me is the 2 goals conceded, both came from players fighting the man rather than actually challenging to win the header, guys watch Virg he trusts himself to win the ball and rarely gets involved in the physical tussle so he can’t jump.

Ibou you are a big unit, just jump and win the ball you.

One last thing about Ibou he needs to become better in possession and that is what hopefully Guehi brings, if we get him.

His name is Rio and he dances in the sand … castle defeat

In the end 3 points is what matters!

Gave you a like, but not for this.

It doesn’t get any better lol

I agree with control but you can’t stop a ref giving silly fouls. All game that was Virgils biggest gripe at Hopper the game wasn’t been reffed the same.

I agree but it what was expected and we also committed needless fouls irrespective of the referee reffing it one way, I had to watch to tape the 2nd half at watch it when I got in, how Bruno didn’t receive a 2nd yellow is a mystery and again against us no yellow for Joelinton!!!
