Would love to see 2 established CB’s at the back for a change.
Strangely, it looks like defenders are behind the midfielders in the pecking order for the CB position.
But, we have to trust Jurgen’s judgment, and the fact that he feels it’s a much safer , less risk approach to field Hendo ahead of Nat/Davies.
Hope Klopp will use the 5 changes today, like using Tsimikas for example.

Worked ok for the last 2-3 years. More difficult to change that I think given that it means a whole reworking of how the full backs and forward line play

Yup, Robbo has looked knackered over the past few games. I was actually hoping for him to eve give a start to Kostas and rest Robbo, but I think having stable full backs remains a priority for now and that’s fully acceptable

Obviously I want to see Hendo in midfield as much as anyone else, but Klopp isn’t managing g on bloody FIFA where you can chuck two young inexperienced defenders in at the back and expect it to be fine.
What’s Phillips done wrong?
Ok it might have been a stretch but I’d still say we are stronger having Phillips in defence and Henderson in midfield, than Henderson in defence and Jones in midfield (assuming that Henderson would be in midfield in place of Jones tonight if it wasn’t for injuries etc)
Well chucking 2 very experienced midfielders in the centre of defence the last 4 weeks hasn’t been “fine” either… so what’s the worst that can happen
This was talked about in Nat’s thread. Phillips hasn’t done anything wrong. He’s been fine. But we compromise a lot to play him and protect him.
I’d also point out that Nat, Rhys and Kabak all play pretty much exclusively on the right of defence, so not only are you asking two inexperienced players to form a high risk (That’s the way we play) defensive Partnership against the team second in the bundesliga, you’re also asking one of them to do it on a side they aren’t used to.
